Checked out the met office radar (http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/ ) and it doesn't look good.for the Midlands. Anyone have an Ark? :-S

Been raining here all day. A "chilly" 17C (sorry, but that's cool for the sub-tropics!). :-D

I don't think I'll be going to the farmers' market tomorrow - too boggy underfoot :-(

Yesterday was lovely, sunny all day. Today back to rain. (yes we saw the forecast.) We'll join you on the ark Trouble is we tend not to take advantage of the sunny days because we are expecting it to rain again any minute.

Five years ago was when we had horrific floods in Gloucester with no drinking water for three weeks and no electricity for two days. Fingers crossed. I am sure the people who were flooded out of their homes are anxious.

I was up at 7am,stripped the bed,put machine on.remade bed and the got back in with a cup of tea and the paper.
Just as i was going to get up and put washing out and do a bit of gardening....it poured down.

Five years ago we were lucky to retain our drinking water during the floods and fingers crossed for this time. Apart from flooding the majority of the local and main roads we had a hillside with trees slipped and blocked the main road. Locals went out afterwards to find 10 metre plus trees standing on the landslip in the middle of the road. Very surreal

You know the saying - it never rains, but it pours?
One of my cats threw up on my bed this morning.
Apart from the cover, the duvet needs washing.

Excess rain forecast here today.

Have put it on the line & brought it in 3 times so far :-|

K are you local to me?

Bucketing down outside at the moment, just come back from shops, had to sit in the car for 10 minutes, then when I finally braved it stepped into the river that has replaced the drive and path. It hadn't been raining when we got into the car (well actually it was just spitting a bit), but just going to the house from the car I had to change my trousers when I got in.

Ann - I live on the borders of Worcestershire and Herefordshire and it was the A44 that was shut by the landslide a few years ago.

I thought Gloucestershire had missed out, but it seems to be spreading south and looks terrible over with you at the moment. I had the week off this week to partly catch up with the garden. Sadly talk locally of cancelling the local big show/gala this weekend as cars will just sink into the field.

Well seeing it is more like winter I'am going to make some mince pies and think of Christmas.
The weather was better then than now.

K It is still raining but not as hard just gentle and persistent. There is a big brass band open air meeting at Hignham House, if you know it tomorrow (20 brass bands) had thought about going but I don't think so now, it will be really soggy underfoot even if it doesn't rain.

Still steady rain here, but judging by the radar the next heavy rain is not long in arriving.

Just heard that the local show was cancelled which has never happened before to my knowledge and must be a disaster for the organisers. Let sheep into shelter this morning and they appear happier but still soggy
