How do you cook yours?

I boil and mash potatoes, add chopped corned beef and a finely chopped onion, place it in a dish and brown it under the grill, then serve with veg.

Various friends cook it in other ways. Some cook it like a stew with potatoes and carrot and turnip/swede. Others cook it like a casserole .... layered with veg and potatoes.

Is it a regional thing?

I am from Liverpool, the friend who cooks it like a stew is from Manchester and the other is from the Stoke on Trent area.

Chop up corned beef in a pan with baked beans. Heat through. Put in shallow dish with mash on top. Cover with grated cheese. Grill. Voila. How to make corned beef hash as it's done down South

:-D not as nice as the corned beef fritters we had as a child. Once a week corned beef and luncheon meat fritters fried in batter with mash and baked beans. Yum (well, it was then) :-P
