Sharron

Sharron Report 21 Feb 2012 12:04

There are things that people do that I really don't understand. I don't understand why they do it or how they ever thought of doing it in the first place.

There are many. One is smoking and another that I really can't fathom is why anybody would want to serve custard with bread and butter pudding. It flies in the face of nature.

I don't get bread and butter pudding.........

I can't get it out of my head that's it's basically soggy bread.

*shudders*

Sharron Report 21 Feb 2012 12:10

So it is but why would anybody put custard on it?

JustDinosaurJill Report 21 Feb 2012 12:31

I don't understand bullying. I don't understand how others can get off on making someone else unhappy.

I tried to make bread and butter pudding once. I can bake but not it would seem, bread and butter pudding.

Wow its my favourite pudding........

Love it, custard an all !!

Like Flo says it was a dish that could feed all the family and fill em up when I was a child, I make it with apricots as well as raisins......hmmm lovely :-D

Marilyn......... that must be old and poor once !..LOL

Island Report 21 Feb 2012 12:45

I think custard is poured over bread and butter pudding to fool others into eating it. Waste of good custard I say.

What I don't understand is how anyone had left over bread in the first place - that's just bad planning :-0

Rambling Report 21 Feb 2012 12:47

Well, dare I venture onto this thread, or do I risk being shot at dawn
I am going to offend here, but it is not intentional.
I am afraid Sharron, I do both.
I even have Bread and Butter Puddings stock pilled in my freezer, and they are all different flavours. I have been know to put cream on mine, but I do like it with Custard, especially the skin of the Custard. I also like it ontop of Rice Pudding.
I will run away quickly.

Oh dear.

I love bread and butter pudding with/without custard.

I also smoke and have been known to partake of the odd glass/bottle of vino :-0.

Think I will go and stand in the naughty corner ;-)

Island

Island Report 21 Feb 2012 13:20

Oh I know what's good for me Julia - and it ain't custard skin! eeewwww :-0

I don't understand how anyone eats rhubarb when they could cut out the chore and pour custard onto a bowl of sugar, Double eeewww

As for tapioca pudding :-S Nobody ate it at school so why did they keep dishing it up? Does anyone eat it from choice?

I think the answer to starting smoking is peer pressure, once you're hooked it's hard to stop as nicotine is addictive.

JustDinosaurJill Report 21 Feb 2012 13:21

In a little while I need to go make stuffing with the left over bread to put into the freezer. I much prefer the food I make myself than out of a packet. I tried a shop-bought Lasagne the other day; waste of calories! Hubby, daughter and son all have different special diets so most days all meals are different. I do enjoy cooking which is lucky but sometimes I get the urge to 'treat' myself to something I haven't prepared. Most days though I just have a hot choc instead of an evening meal.

I make a wicked cheese sauce but my friend swears by the packet sort. I love it when I get the chance to bake. Hubby takes quiches and cakes into work which makes his colleagues love me.

I've never smoked. I drink occasionally but alcohol doesn't really do it for me. On holiday with my family and chosen family we enjoy a nice evening meal and a bottle of 'local' beer. Something about summer sunshine, loved ones and a cold beer.

I love it but find it quite bland without additives such as raisins and or sultanas plus a sprinkling of nutmeg and or cinnamon then use real home made Thin custard to bake the pudding and not just milk and cream

Roy

Just off for a Fag:-D back later :-P
