What about signalling in supermarket carparks? Hardly ever see any there these days and yet it is just as important to let other cars know what you are doing as well as pedestrians, many of whom seem to think all the roads are pavements in a carpark. :-D

The lack of indication as to where you intend to turn has been a thing we have noticed for a long time, and so dangerous too.

There's another magic roundabout in Hertfordshire I believe. OH had American visitors when he worked. They couldn't believe this magic roundabout when negotiating it. As far as I know they don't have a lot of roundabouts in America.

Yes I've also negotiated the Magic Roundabout several times when my daughter was living there. Surprisingly though I never saw any problems unless I was just lucky.-jl

Wend Report 2 Feb 2012 21:37

Yeah, I know, Island, but I get scared in my little Fiesta and the drivers all look like Maria Sharapova :-(

Well personally I feel that anyone who has a problem with roundabouts should be given a course of lessons on the Magic Roundabout in Swindon.

In Hamburg some 20 years ago was asked by a german gentleman if I knew of this - I had to confirm I did.

Island

Island Report 2 Feb 2012 21:26

Well I Travel with children and I personaly would not jeapodise their lives , my life or any persons life on the road or pedestrians for the need to get somewhere quicker.......

Sharron

Sharron Report 2 Feb 2012 20:57

I really don't know about nationalities but I have found over the years that women with children in their cars can sometimes think they have some sort of priority because their need to be somewhere soon is rather more important than that of anybody else.
