I really miss ..............the meet threads , what happened to all the meet ? Off hand I can think of at least 6 annual meets what happened to them? :-0

I have been to some cracking meets :-D

Seems some people want to only invite certain people and exclude others. That's not my idea of a meet at all. Everyone interested should post their intention to go and if other members don't like it tough. Everyone should know who is going if only to get the garlic ready :-P

I really cant be ***** with meets like that, the meets I have been too biggy ones so if you dont really want contact with people your able to avoid them... BUT with saying that I have met some lovely people whom I dont much converse with on the boards :-D

True and I have made some really good friends via meets :-D

The whales watching season is starting in August in Hervey Bay Queensland, Aus.
Sunset tours, day tours etc, all catered for.
Lovely location and not cold.

I haven't been to a meet yet, must admit was invited but missed them.

My old mate Foggs recons he has met some cracking people at the meets hes been to, wish I had gone now.

Funny, I was talking to my friend last night, she knows I have been on GR for years, she asked what happened to the meets because i have mentioned going to a couple in the past.

My take on it to her was that it was partly due to diminishing numbers on here and partly to it having become very difficult to arrange one that wasn't treated as an excuse ( on the boards at least) to have a pop at people you really didn't want to meet. If A was going ( or 'said' they were) B wouldn't want to, and C didn't really want to be piggy in the middle.

She thought it was a shame and damn daft that 'adults' couldn't manage to avoid each other if nec' and just talk to the people they feel comfortable with :-)
