Tried to do this some time back and it bombed, So let's try again.

What is your favourite song of the 60's or 70's.

With so many great songs to choose from, this should get you thinking.

I hope this brings back some wonderful memories.

Hello Len

I don't have a particular favourite but I liked Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark, the Everley Brothers and Billy J Kramer and in the 70's I liked (dare I admit it lol) David Cassidy.

Hi Len,

same then as now Gerry and the Pacemakers - Ferry me cross the Mersey!

All the music was good in 60/70's, either it went downhill after that or I got older!!!

I had just started to go out with my OH and had found out that she was only 15. I was 19. We have now been married for just over 40 years.

I used to sing it in the bath; not a pretty sound or a pretty sight :0))

The Sixties - the tunes were great we all new the words and could sing along - now I have no idea what some of the words are seem to be only able to catch the obscene ones.
The twist was the new dance craze which led to .... you don't need a partner you could dance with anyone everyone could do it albeit some rather strangely.
I loved Buddy Holly, Rick Nelson, Brenda Lee, Dusty Springfield - all now gone....
but some are still with us and still going strong like Don Mclean.

There was this girl singer who sang " Please don't talk to the life guard"

My friend started laughing at me (well apart from the fact that my singing is hopeless) because while we were getting ready to go out I was singing
" Please don't talk with the lights on"

my husband is a 1960's fan. He has a vast collection of records so i hear all my favourites all the time, but they must be original 45's and not new c.ds as the sound is different.

I loved everything that Donovan sang but especially "Catch the Wind". It's still one of my favourite songs. Of course there were so many other wonderful songs during that time.
