i like a quiet life, i do,
but then i take it and take it,
being walked on,
carry on and carry on,

then i flip, start ranting,
then end up crying

Like a lot of you, I do avoid confrontations and often walk away for the sake of peace or others.
Once I have reached my thresh hold on tolerence I'm a timebomb with a very short fuse. Trouble is I tend to bottle up then when finally the lid is off I go like a she devil, where it might have been better to release it a bit out a time.

I'm totally intolerent of parents of bratty children who will not keep them under control and people who mistreat animals. In my time I have taken my fair share of clouts for protecting dogs and I have given my fair share out when needed.

Maybe not a ticking timebomb but definately no doormat.

I would have to say I'm in the middle. Like many of you it would depend on the situation I'm in. I am patient by nature and it takes a fair bit to get me rattled but once I am .................................. !
One thing that always does it for me is injustice of any kind.

If I know I'm 100% right I stick to my guns, whatever.A lot does depend on circumstances but I tend to go with "three strikes & you're out" .
By the same token I will apologise if I'm wrong & I don't bear grudges & I don't do "Hate",it's a waste of energy,however,I don't forget.

I particularily dislike things/people who waste my time, lie, cheat,"showboat" & have no respect for anyone or anything...In the incident with the dog I would have phoned the RSPCA/Police because I don't like violence & that sounded a very intimidating & scary situation,it sickens me that a human thinks they can do that & get away with it.

Door-mat...no.

yep, I'm definitely the ticking time bomb at the moment...

I don't like being let down by people who were supposed to be , if not 'friends' per se, then at least pleasant acquaintances...it isn't very 'nice' lol

Especially when it comes to the subject of>>>>>>>>CAKE<<<<<<<<<<< !!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocolate cake can defuse any situation if eaten in sufficient quantity cause it's impossible to get out of the chair.

Cake-the peace maker ;)

I'm usually very laid back and quiet, but push me too far, and I'll explode - not necessarily loudly - according to my children, my 'quiet' voice is much more threatening - and they should know - they used to love trying to rile me.
It has an amazing effect, as the recipient isn't expecting it .
My manager e-mailed the whole open plan office stating that me and 2 colleagues would turn the dishwasher on.
I told her she was out of order - she should have at least asked if we were prepared to do it, before declaring it to everyone (we didn't mind, but it was a point of principle).
She replied that, as my manager she told me what to do, and I would do it.
My reply? - very quietly - "You are my manager, not my controller, respect is a two-way thing'. and I just walked away.
She's been as nice as pie since and she - and other managers - always ask if we'd mind doing something not in our 'remit'.

Another time, I was really peed off at 3 teenagers (one is my neighbour) who, every evening strolled to the front of the bus queue, ignoring those of us who had been patiently waiting.
Got on the bus and I started - loudly this time! The other passengers were silent! I did end up appologising for having a go at them, but pointed out that manners cost nothing.
When we're waiting for the bus now, they don't push in, and when the lad next door's ball comes over into my garden, he's extremely polite!! LOL

I'm pretty much a ticking time bomb, it takes a lot to get me to lose it, but stand well back if I do...

The one thing that annoys me most is people who snide behind others backs, then present such a nice front to the very people they've stabbed in the back only seconds before. That kind of two-facedness is something we could do without

Hello Young Rose,

I think I am a fairly laid back kind of person, I don't normally loose my temper, BUT when I do whoever was the cause will definitely know about it.
I believe in being polite to everyone, and expect the same back, but if rudeness comes my way, then I can be quite a handful.
Over the last few years I have become less trusting of some people, but that is because of an episode in my life which has now passed.

So basically I am a really laid back kind of person, but definitely wont be put upon.
