Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Nov 2010 12:56

12.57pm.
Don't know what is happening this Christmas as I am in such a mess and I usually start making my wreaths about the end of November. Don't think he is going to let me do it this year!!!!

I keep seeing things in the shops and think "that would be nice for mum" can't get my head round not having to buy her things.

I saw that message once at the side Mel but is has vanished.
I know when My Mum died I used to do that Mel ,thinking Oh That is just Mum's kind of thing. Then I realised'silly me'and get a bit teary eyed.I found it was that first year was the hardest.

Well my shopping trip this morning was a bit of a waste of time.I bought wrapping paper, bows, ribbons etc but no presents !!! Oh and I bought a roasting rack That was exciting wasn't it.I wonder if I will actually use it lol

My old Headmaster gave me a ring this morning.I think he must be coming up for 80 now.He always has a little news for me from Plymouth and the village .Sadly these days it is always about someone who has died.Anyway it was nice to hear from him.

I fell asleep watching the Jungle last night.I knew it was a bad idea to watch it in bed.(I was in the spare).Chris said when he came up he could hear me snoring my head off with the TV still going lol

Oh Mel, I'm so sorry about you missing your Mum, and you Jane, I still do and my parents both died 24/25 years ago. It's not as bad as it was, but when I feel 'down', I find myself wishing that I could just 'Go Home!' rather like I did when I first went away to school!! so I do sympathise. I've started thinking about presents!! I'm not sure whose doing what this year (no change there) so I may get the children presents on line and send them direct. Presentwise we are a very small family, just the children, Laura Neil and Mark. OH and I usually buy something that we both like which we wouldn't buy normally. I haven't got any bros or sisters, OH's family don't give presents, they never have, not even to our kids, and that included my MIL!! my mother used to get really wound up about that!! wierd family or what, but then in-laws often are!!!! I've got a message under the reply box about reading the guidelines etc, and its underlined!!!!

Afternoon all
I went shopping this morning to Mick*nnon Mills it's like a woolen Mill sort of place, I was asked yesterday would I buy dad a new pair of trousers and jumper for his christmas party on the 8th December. so I decided to look out his suit trousers which he has never worn for about a year now , I kept the suit wraped up, and then bought him a new jumper and tie.

Also got sorted out the Christmas Care home present , saw a hamper all done up with shortbread, crackers and jam , also sweets had 20% off it in one of the sales , an ideal present something for everyone.

sorry you had no luck with your shopping Jane.

Liz ,we too are a small family.Just me ,Chris and our 2,and I have 1 sister with her 3 and 2 grandchildren.Chris has no family.I have other rellies but not that close that we do presents.Just Xmas cards.
You say about 'going home'.It's funny isn't it but I remember if I was living away from home and was ill or feeling a bit down I just wanted to 'Go Home' lol
One year when I was nursing and lived in a very cold and cheerless flat I went down with the flu.I felt so bad and rang my Dad to say "Dad can you come and get me".Bless him he was there in a flash and took me home where I stayed for 2 weeks.Just being looked after and molly coddled a bit was just wonderful.

It is so dark here now ,and feeling a bit chilly.I hear some parts of the country may have some snow later in the week !!!!!

That sounds a great pressie for the home, and your Dad will look the Bees Knees in his new jumper and tie.
Just ordered a couple of pressies on line for James.I emailed his girlfriend for any ideas she could think of.So that's 2 sorted lol

The days seem to be whizzing by, has taken me ages to catch up with all the chat.

Yes please Frank, if it's not too much trouble I would like to see the DVD's..... just call me second hand Mo ....... lol

Glad to hear your brother is going to be okay, and how is your brother these days David. The only redeeming thing about the drop in house prices is when you buy something else the price will be cheaper too.

Maureen Report 21 Nov 2010 16:02

Mel, I have done practically the same as you the last few months since my mum passed. Initially kept very busy, having a massive clear out and decorating, and now thinking of Christmas when I would pick her up and we would spend it at my daughters. She would join in all the games, even had a go on the Singstar last year, As Jane said the first year is probably the hardest, all the occasions when they won't be with us anymore.

HI
I hope everyone is ok this week end.
I love Jane Mac I have seen her about six times and have all of her records .
I was not keen when she was on the Cruise she married that Henrik Brixen and went to America and he took all of her money after becoming her manager. Now she is engaged to Ed who was a drummer with the Searchers and will marry him next year. I have met Jane once at her show in Redditch a lovely lady from Wakefield her backing singers have been with her for years. I like Janes voice and her songs.

I went to the German market yesterday in Brum very interesting.i got chased down New Street by a stray Pudsey Bear . I loved the Loose women on Children in Need.

Well no Jed Wood in Celeb what was that women taklking about did not think they would be in that although today the lady said they were going to be in it but someone let it out that they were and they were cancelled.

I still like Nigel but please let them give someone else ago its getting boring seing that poor women screaming and fainting.
