Bosh as well Frank, I don't think anyone will want to live next door to our neighbours from hell, but you never know! Jane, don't forget to tell me all about Lionel Blue, he always sounds such a lovely man, I hope you have a good evening. I've NEVER done Jury Service Maureen, OH has years ago, and he was the only person to find the accused Not Guilty! that, of course, was in the days when it had to be a unanimous vote! so it held it up for hours! can't remember what happened, typical of OH though, never says yes when he means no! time for COT, talk again soon!

I think you have to declare somewhere when selling your house if you have 'difficult' neighbours. Perhaps it's the ones with ASBO's.

I only did jury service in January Liz. Wasn't looking forward to it but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, I certainly don't want to do it again though, unless I have to.

Jane Report 3 Nov 2010 16:48

I am still waiting to be called for Jury Service !!!!!
Shirl we had Chester tested for food allergies some years ago and Chicken and Lamb came up quite high as did some cereals
We pay £30 a month insurance for him .If he isn't covered he can stay on a low dose steroids his spray and Piriton. The only trouble with that is I won't be able to give him his medicine for his Arthritic leg.I don't think Chris would be happy paying out £130 a month .I think that would be for so long and then the dosage is gradually reduced so the price would drop.

Ear plugs at the ready Maureen lol.I bet you will have a great time

I think Frank is being a bit frisky today. He needs to go for that walk he planned before the rain came !!!!!!!!

Must go and stir the spag bol.

Now ,the big decision.Do I wear a coat or just take my umberella.I hate wearing a coat to the theatre as you either have have it on your lap or rolled up on the floor.Plus it always makes me hot having to keep it on my lap.I think it might be the brolly and crossed fingers it doesn't P it down .It is just a shortish walk from the carpark or a quick dash lol

I don't know how to describe it really Sheila. It is nice.Maybe I will send a pic of me in it when I wear it to the wedding at the end of the month.

Just opened a letter ,from "Come Dine With Me " people. They are looking for people in this area to go on the programme. It is one of my favourite progs, but I wouldn't have the nerve I'm afraid.I would like the "Coach Trip" programme though. That would be fun.
Must go now as Chris is just in and we need to eat quickly and then be away by 6.30.
Tatty Bye for now.

Liz it must be very worry waiting to find out if your husband will be ok and what treatment he will have my brother decided not to have the operation but to be zapped which he called it. He was very tired after sessions and now takes hormone pills and he is ok. So I will pray your husband will be also.

Neighbours can be very depressing .I remember we had a neighbour who said we should renew a fence because it was ours and after looking at the plans we saw that fence was there responsibilty but no they let it rot and it fell down and lay on our grass for ages. We tried everything having replaced the fence the other side of the garden. These neighbours were threatening us with all kind of things in the end we replaced the fence just for peace and to improve our garden. We had iron posts sunk in and a very expensive fence and then
got a letter saying we had ruined a tree that was close by. We had to a send them a solicitor s letter but in the end they were so horrible we moved.

My grandads relatives come from Wantage and areas and my grannie came from Stroud Glos and lived in Cleobury Mortimer and Shelsey Beauchamp
lovely names .

I did jury service some boring case to do with stealing rabbits and I had to sit in a room for days with people I did not like except for one lady and discuss this case and it went on for ever because everyone liked the person who was accused of the crime but she seemed guilty of nicking rabbits from another persons farm to sell at a market.

Thank you for your good wishes and hope everything goes well for you with the selling of the house and move etc

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes I feel better did not want another hospital stay and all the rest that worried me.So it was good news.

Can I please have some jokes and pictures my aol was not changed I had a lady sending me horror pictures and had to stop her I did not mean anyone on
this thread site was sending me bad pictures. Pictures you all were kindly sending me and jokes were getting lost into spam because of hers.

Iwent a walk today and found a man cooking wild mushrooms he had a little cooker oil and salt and was munching these very brown huge mushrooms it amused me.

Hope you have a lovely evening Jane and Chris.

I gave the slippers to our cleaning lady as mum took a 6 and I take a three or four.

Some I threw away that were badly worn.

Made the cleaner work for her money for a change today. Got her to do windows in the kitchen and we had all the nets down so I can wsh those again and she hoovered all through. She likes the hoover and leaves it running even when she is dusting which really annoyed mum and me. Anyway she went off with a chicken carcus for the dogs to stew up, loads of slippers and a bag full or trousers and a couple of sleeveless tops. All that will be good for her dog walking early in the mornings.

OH painted inside oe of the wardrobes this morning and started to take the poly tiles off the ceiling later. I helped him move the furniture out of the bedroom and it's now in the lounge. Hope nobody calls as you can hardly get in there now!!

Chucked a load more stuff and am tired out now and don't know what to get to eat!!!!

Evening All,

Hope you have a nice evening at the theatre Jane......I would just take the brolly too for the same reasons!! lol Gosh, vets are expensive these days aren't they. I don't think I could manage £130 a month either.

Glad you got good news Sheila.

Liz, you must be right fed up. One step at a time and things will get sorted out.

It has always struck me as strange this business about declaring things about the neighbours when you sell a house. After all, you might get on well with your neighbours, but new people in your house might cause problems with them themselves!! One of our neighbours rarely speaks to anyone. She doesn't even say hello or acknowledge you if you wait while she backs her car out of her drive. Treats us all the same though! lol

I wish they would call me for Jury Service too Jane!! Mind you, I think Maureen said there was a lot of waiting around and I'm not good at that. lol

We spent today at a meeting about the changes that are happening in the NHS and other services over the next few years. People from the Council, a couple of GPs and others gave talks, very informative. They handed out a quiz for us to do while we had lunch and we (mostly OH!) won it and got a big tin of choccies. I told OH to HIDE it! lol

Mel, you are a busy bee, but you must have lots to sort through and clear. I bet the cleaner was pleased with the gifts.......and her dogs!! lol

I used to love those huge open flat mushrooms you could buy in the market. Gently fried, they had much more flavour than the button ones. When I was about 11, me and my friend were allowed to go and pick some mushrooms at a farmer friend of her father's. He had used spent mushroom compost on a field he grew mangols in and had ended up with far more mushrooms than mangols. Her dad sold them in his shop and paid us according to what he sold, less his profit! I remember mum cooking them everyday until we were sick of them!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Nov 2010 18:44

WE used to pick mushrooms over the back of the sea wall at St. Osyth's near clacton where we had a caravan when I was young. We used to see these prople coming back from an early morning walk with string bags full of huge mushrooms. So one day dad said "Lets go for a walk before breakfast" Well over we went past the sea wall and into the cows fields. Then we saw them............... loads of big white topped mushrooms all shiny with dew. We brought lots back to the van and had some for breakfast. Next day dad had been out with the boat and the trawl and he came back with some lovley small sole. He gutted them and we grilled them and had them with mushrooms from the fields for breakfast. I did eat those mushrooms but never ate shop mushrooms when I was young. It was'nt until much later in life that I started eating mushrooms again. They do grow in our garden here and I have had years when lots come up and I have sold them on the barrow outside our gate.

Hope you both enjoy the Theatre Jane ,you'll need a brolly if you have the rain like we have here ,quite hard at times .

Bet your cleaner was pleased with the slippers Mel, you have small feet Mel ,my aunt had small feet she took a size two !!

Talking of Mushrooms ,we use to have bags of Mushroom compost from a farmer friend ,he use to get trailer loads from the local mushroom farm ,it was very good on the garden ,plants seemed to thrive on it and it also stopped the weeds from coming through.

Well done for winning Ann , how long before you start on the choccies !!lol

Did you find a knitting pattern for those gloves to match the scarf? I don't seem to be able to settle to any craft things since OH retired.......he interrupts too much!!

I'm off to the final Records Office talk tomorrow, which is on Ag Labs. I'm meeting an old work friend for a coffee and natter before and then we are going together.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 3 Nov 2010 20:11

Ann, all the patterns i've got and there's not one with fingerless gloves for little ones !!!
All i could find when i googled were fingerless mittens ,and they were in 8ply !!! what ever that is.
i couldn't even find a glove pattern for little ones ,i thought i could find a glove pattern and just do short fingers , i wanted one for double knit wool.

The talk on Ag Labs should be good Ann, i've lots of them in my tree !!

I'm off to bed now. Hope Jane & Chris have a lovely evening.

Morning All,

Another dull and windy day and you should see the lawn! it is covered in leaves. The poor trees are nearly bare.

I have to go out this afternoon so shan't be around.

Hope you have a nice day our with your friend Ann. I shall be interested to hear some of the info you get. I still think it's shame they did'nt put what the Ag. Lab actually did on most census. I have quite a few on my tree but only sometimes they add Horseman, Cowman or Thresher, Shepherd or Pigman.

Mr. Mel's birthday on Sunday!!! I shall have to get him something. He has already had some wheatgerm fish food for his new fish. He needed that with the cold weather coming on so I gave him that.

Frank

Frank Report 4 Nov 2010 09:32

Hope Mr Mel, dosen't take any, to keep the cold out. !!!!
Very windy here, but I think quite mild. getting colder later in week.

Jane must be having a lie in after her LATE night. !!!

Jane Report 4 Nov 2010 10:10

I'll have you know Frank I have been out and back .Lie in indeed lol
What a great night it was.Rabbi Blue is 80 now and is suffering from Parkinsons. He has had treatment for Cancer too.Goodness what an amazing man.He stood the whole time leaning on his cane, and was just so funny. All his jokes are related to some life situation .I have to say I laughed my head off.
I am not religious but some of the things he was saying ,like the way he believed certain things made me think. He made a lot of sense.
I bought his book which he signed during the interval. It looks like it is going to be a funny and good read.It is called"The Godseeker's Guide

On the back cover he says he has written the book to answer questions posed by young people starting out on their life's journey, oldies finishing it,and the many muddled rest of us in between.
I can't see him doing the rounds of theatres for an awful lot longer really but I am so glad we went to hear him.

By Gum it is windy. All the leaves were falling around my head when I was out for our walk and all piling up along the side of the pavement.

I hope you have an interesting talk today Ann.

Must go ,I need to go to town to change a top.BBL
