You're right Frank, our neighbours are a complete nightmare, rang our Surveyor yesterday, said that he'd heard it all before and to insist that they have a survey done, then the Surveyors can sort it out. This is what we are going to do. If they don't or won't then we shall give them 14 days to do something about it or we shall consider the matter closed. As you say Mel, either thick or just plain nasty!! Loved the dogs Frank, again cheered me up!! Glad your lump wasn't serious Sheila. Fine day here so a bit more gardening and tidying up. well! maybe!!!

Morning Jane and Liz and A,,

It got very windy here too last night. Not to bad this morning though but dull and cloudy.

Sheila what good news that it is just a cyst and nothing worse. I hope it put your mind at rest.

Liz some people have nothing better to do with their time than to annoy others. Hope that will be the end of it now for you.

Did any of you see the new program on the Victorian shops yesterday on BBC 1 at nine oclock?? I really enjoyed it.

Cleaner comes today and I hope to get more stuff cleared out. I found 34 pairs of slippers that mum had!!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2010 10:41

34 pairs of slippers!!!!!!!.Where were they all Mel ?I got a shock when I found 2 old pairs lol
Back from vet.He think Chester will need to be on meds for life now for his allergies. He suggests I ring my pet insurance people to see if he is covered for something called Atopica.I hope so as it would start off at £130 per month!!!!!!.
Chris will say put him down lol.(not really). He has had an injection so I think he will have a sleep now.
I will nip into town while it is still nice outside.

Liz we have some odd neighbours too .I don't say nasty but I think they could be quite difficult.

LilyL

LilyL Report 3 Nov 2010 10:46

Yes Mel, We saw 'The Victorian Shop' last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, only thing was I went to sleep half way through!! but OH woke me up!! I think it was watching all that hard work!! particularly the Baker!! that first lot of bread looked, well....... a bit different!!! Watched a film earlier about Witch hunting during the Civil War, Oh dear, gory or what, particularly when they burned a so called witch! that was deeply unpleasant!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Nov 2010 10:58

Liz you could always watch that program on the pooter to see the bit you missed. They used to repeat these kinds of programs too on another day.

Having another clear out. OH is cleaning the wardrobes out so he can repaint the insides.

Frank Report 3 Nov 2010 11:02

Morning,
Sunshine wall to wall, hardly a breeze out there. I'm going for a walk later so will take my camera. Hope I can find how to transfer to computer and send them on.

34 pairs Mel, You could open a slipper shop!!!

Jane I doubt an insurance co. will touch Chester. with an exsisting problem. if the would that would be an exclusion.

I've been so lucky, never had bad neighbours, I think its my personallity. !!!!Don't you dare comment Jane.!!!

LilyL

LilyL Report 3 Nov 2010 11:30

Afternoon all,

Goodness were has the morning gone ,i don't seem to have done a lot and now its nearly lunch time !!

Well the wind did eventually drop last night ,woke up to see one of the neighbours wheelie bins in the middle of the road !!

That a lot of slippers Mel, i remember finding lots of slippers after Dad had gone , i think a lot were probably christmas and birthday presents,he just carried on wearing his old ones !!

I recorded the Victorian shop programme last night ,so might watch it tonight as the football is on !!

Wow Jane £130 a month !! still we have dogs we have to look after them ,we think the world of Toby and would pay what ever to keep him well ,he's my company through the day ,and i chatter away to him .

Enjoy your walk Frank, and mind how you go !!

Frank

Frank Report 3 Nov 2010 13:12

Come over very cloudy, and looks like we will get rain, so will put it off walk till later, and see how the weather goes.
Ros has popped to Morris#ns. She wants to start getting bits, to take to No. 2 sons for Christmas. We all try to share the cost. Jans daughter is supplying the puddings and cheese and biscuits, we always supply the veg, fruit and chochs, nuts. Smoked salmon Beef, Pork, Ham, and any others bits and pieces. No 2 Son supplies the Turkey. No 1 son. Chips in for his Family. It's too expensive to expect one person to pay for the lot. Nobody in the Family drink, apart from me, so I'll take my own beer and wine. It's only 7 weeks off now, so not long to spread the costs.

I have been so lucky with my pets over the years, Penny our black poodle had an ear infection, and had to have a hole drilled into her head behind the ear so that she could hear, it had to be cleaned daily, to keep the infection away. but I think the other two poodles didn't cost me a penny, one got run over, when she dashed out throught our front hedge, the other died of old age. My first cat had to be put down due to old age and dissability. Our present cat, just keeps going. He's starting to loose his teeth, but still magages. A bit like ME !!!!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 3 Nov 2010 13:36

We've now got rain !!!

Frank , i think its good to share the cost of christmas when there's several of you ,that way you can get a few special things that perhaps you wouldn't buy just for yourself , every year things get more expensive, last year we did wonder if we might have a Goose but when we saw the price !!! we changed our minds .

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2010 13:54

Who turned the lights off????? It has become so dark ,all that lovely sunshine has gone and I think it is just starting to rain

I bet you and your old cat make a lovely pair Frank,a bit wobbly and gummy lol
Only Joking Only Joking lololol

Afternoon All
Dark and has been raining all day.
went to meet friends for coffee this morning and then as Daughter no 1 is having a days holl today I don't have Sofia so I treated myself to lunch out
then went and bought some gray trousers to replace the pair I spoiled with bleach. and had a good look around the town.

Jane , when your mum was in the care home did you buy a present for the staff at Christmas like sweets or biscuites, this is the first real christmas dad has in care, last year it was only respite.
I really can't buy indervidual gifts as there's so many different people who work there. WHAT DO YOU THINK ? I used to buy a box of biscutes for the day centre but there was only about 6 members of staff I knew

Just read that you said that you had neighbours that you felt could be tricky Jane, I just hope for your sake that they don't get it into their heads to be really impossible, makes life SO wearing!! House Agent has just bought someone to look round our house!!!! wait till they hear about neighbour, that'll put the kai wash on that! also OH has to go to hospital, AND we have to find somewhere else to live!! but there you go, you have to start somewhere!!! Miserable afternoon, wet and horrible, am about to post another war poem, I tend to get the bit between my teeth, so musn't keep on!!!

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2010 15:09

My Dad called it Champing at the Bit I think Liz lol.I don't think my neighbours would be anything as bad as yours, but they are definitely a strange family.I think a few people who know them don't know quite what to make of them so it's 's not just me thank heavens.
I must go and wash my hair and get tea on, ready to eat about 5.30 as it is Lionel Blue tonight

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2010 15:17

Sorry Fiona ,didn't see you there.
Janice and I gave the girls(staff) some wine /sherry at Xmas .They all liked a tipple .They always seemed to have loads of sweets .It is always awkward knowing what to do ,but I know they will be grateful with whatever you choose.

Fiona

Fiona Report 3 Nov 2010 15:25

Fiona, When I was treated for my stroke and afterwards at the reseach centre. I bought a couple of boxs of biscuits for the staff. They can have them with their coffee break, or when they fancy a nibble. !!! Not that sort of nibble JANE !!!!

Liz, made me smile about kai wash did you mean BOSH !!!
You can go on all you like, thats what we are here for, to listern to our friends moans, if they want too.

Jane I have threatened you before, you carry on insulting me and you will be in for a SMACK. and don't even say you might enjoy it. !!! Regards to the cost of medication for the dog, I just couldn't afford that sort of money. He would have to go, I am afraid.

Mandy, I had the same problem with the Christmas Video, couldn't get any sound, if your son sorts it perhaps you can tell me how to get the sound. Oh no, just noticed, neither speaker is on the table now, Alfie must have gone again and taken them both with him this time !!!! I must move the connector before he goes again. He was fast asleep on there the other day and was snoring quite loud !!!

I do hope your insurance covers Chester Jane, otherwise join my club, £59 last week, this vet even charged me for the plasters, £8 that's more than £1 a plaster and they don't even stick. The vet the week before didn't charge me.

That's good news Sheila, you must be relieved, after all the bad news you've had lately I bet you were expecting the worst.

I'm off to daughters this weekend, we're having a family get together firework night with lots of fireworks and all the usual 5th November food. Looking forward to it. Get your ear plugs out Jane, I expect we'll be doing the old singstar on Saturday night .....lol

I can't believe this, I've only got another summons for jury service. I'll fill in the excuse bit, you don't have to do it again, I'm sure until after 2 years.
