Going to bed. I think I need sleep. It's either that or chocolate and I'm not giving in to the cravings.

Catch you in the morning when I will be brighter.

Edit. Sorry remembered this just as I was shutting down. And no it is not a personal anecdote, just a second hand story.

A TRIP TO THE SUPERMARKET

Yesterday I was at my local supermarket buying a large bag of Purina dog food for my loyal pooch, and was in the checkout line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 20 kilos before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pant pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's bum and a car hit us both.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.

The supermarket won't let me shop there anymore.

P.S. Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say.

LOL Maz. I am still getting mine sorted onto index cards so I can see what the devil I need to complete their profiles ie. Baptism date and place which they are missing. Done 155 of one side of the family but loads more to go yet.

AuntySherlock Report 12 Feb 2010 19:25

I have 500 index cards. Thought they looked much prettier without scribble on them so I've left them blank.

In order to fill them in I would have to ban myself from here for a week or two. I am also waiting for three lots of information to come so I can continue searching along two twigs.

Seriously thinking of checking my line back through my maternal grandmother and making sure I have all the sources entered. I also have a query about the beginning of that line and I can't remember if I have ever put it on these boards. Must run a search and see.

Hope every one is recovering from their assorted lurgies. My fluuuuuuuie feelings seem to have disappeared, almost.

I feel a lot better now. Been sitting down a good bit of the day so I think perhaps I just needed a bit of an unwind.

Joshua Powney born 1874 Westbury Wilts, have been informed he died 1933 York,New Brunswick but nothing definate in the way of evidence.

Hi You lot. Flying visit. Kerrrrrrrrrrrash!!

Have been tied up with Winders family. Adding my sixpence worth to the effort. Please to help out as I have had so much assistance from LadyK with my lot.

DET and LG. Canadian records are not really easy to search. However there is a Canadian Archives web site which may be of some use to you. Their privacy rules are about the same as Oz for late historical records.

My team played in the first of the pre-season footy matches yesterday. Poor boys, their hearts were not in the game at all. I could have sent the Nut Lodge team complete with boakins to do a better job. I really don't think they came to play. Matter of a fact I think the coach said, go and have fun, have a few kicks, and don't get yourselves hurt I need you for the proper matches in a few weeks time.

I'm about to be dragged out of here by the scruff of my neck.

Oh joy, oh delight. A whole day of sitting around, listening to boy talk, or bimbos talking about their hairdos and manicures. And then there the same 500 vehicles to walk around, again, and again, and again.

What a waste of my Sunday when I could spend it here, doing stuff.

OK I'm outa here before the domestic bliss is shattered!!!
