LittleWhiteDove2022351 Report 31 Oct 2009 22:26

Year before last we had loads of kids round and I ran out of sweets.
Last year I was more prepared and the only kids we had round was my brother and his 3 girls.. even he had a mask on.. or was that just his face? he he..
Sadly this year my Mams in hospital so don't know if any kids came round.
There are NO kids living on this estate any more.. we've all been here so long all of them have flown the nests!
I quite like it and look forward to it nowadays..Halloween thet is..

Halloween has never really taken off in Australia, even though there has been a push by the corporate sales people to get it going.

Personally, I do not care one way or another. If the children are having fun, let them, most grow up to quickly these days anyway.

As for the so called trouble maker, do not answer their threads, no matter how provocative they are. I have been tempted a few times to post on her threads, I do not as she scares me no end.

Ignore anything she puts up, will soon get the message.

Yeah, halloween is strictly for the tourists!

We serious devil worshipers have got MUCH better things to do!!

Hi Milderd
My grandchildren 6 & 8 years old yesterday had a Hallowen party 14 of there friends came all the house was decorate they had a great time then went trick or treating
Last night children knocked on my door they were having a great time all parents were with them all having fun
It is not Devil worshiping it is simple children having fun
Please do not get upset over a different opion
I hope you & your daughter had a great time last night

I for one do not see anything about Devil Worshipping in children dressing up and having abit of harmless fun.
My only beef about it, and it is the same with Carol singers, is that they may be disturbing elderly people, in their own homes, after dark.
Elaine, as has already been said, please do not bear yourself up over this. She is a loony anyway, and wanted carting off and sectioning ages ago.
Hope your daughter enjoyed herself.

In the light of day I think it has shown Melanie for true mental case she truely is, talk of devil worshipping FGS, its all children look forward to winter for, but then again look at her actions over the last 18mths are they of a normal sane person NOPE...they are not, I wonder if she told the parents of children in the class she "s'pose" to work at, when they have talked excitedly about dressing up and going trick or treating , did she tell them they are devil worshipping and begging I very much doubt it....

Hayley, if she was giving out that load of codswollop to children in her 'sposed care, you would think the school authorities would do something about her.
Yesterday, I was in a shop we have aroung here called Dun Elm, they sell all sorts of household ware, bedding, bathroom stuff, pots and pans and fabric. When I got onto the till to pay there was a little girl with her daddy, paying in front of me. She had had a couple of little lengths of fabric, one satiny, the other some sparkly net. The till lady asked her what it was for, and in a very squeeky voice said it was for an outfit for a Halloween Party she was going to last night. I had tears in my eyes. Mine are all too old for that now
It has just reminded me of an occassion a few years ago. One of my daughter's two sons were going to a Halloween Party, in support of their local football club. Another daughter's young daughter was up here at the time and wanted to go, but wanted to dress up. Daughter number one didn't know what to do, as she was only used to handling boys(she had no daughter at that time). As grandaughter was wearing black leggins and a black sweater, daughter draped her in a piece of white net curtain, and she went, as happy as Larry, as The Bride of Dracula. All very harmless fun, and enjoyed by all.
