be the perfect 'selling point' to you? ( disregarding money for a bit lol).

For me, it is light rooms, and the garden ( or potential for one) throw in a lilac and a wisteria and I 'd buy :)

Good solid bones - you can do the garden yourself and any redecorating that needs doing. As long as the house is sound you're on a winner.

Since moving into this house l would always make sure that my sitting room looks over the back garden, l love it when l open the patio doors and look out on all the flowers, the thing l do miss is my utility room so would like one next time.
Money no object , yes a nice swimming pool in the garden, when my daughter live in Surrey she had one and l used to love finishing work on a hot summers day and going round there, well we can all dream, lol.

The *feel* of the house and the surrounding area.

I have a lot of trees surrounding me here... I love it.

But if money was no object, then I would have a permanent gardener/handyman, to help with my much bigger garden and all the work I would want doing in the slightly bigger house... one more bedroom, and the others slightly bigger (we had to knock out the en-suite here to get our superking bed into the main bedroom, lol) a utility room, and a swimming pool would be nice.. under cover, of course! Oh, and a nice room for my computer, and crafts... overlooking the garden. It wouldn't need to be part of the main house, but I would want to have a warm, dry walkway to it on cold and wet winter days!! I suppose R would want a computer room, as well...........

Oh, and someone to do all the swearing for me!!

lol PollyPoppet, you and my auntie Elsie both have that dream of having a place to rescue animals, if either of you get it I am always willing to help out :)

My son's ideal would be anywhere that needs a lot of renovation work....preferably knocking down walls with a sledgehammer lol.

Please all excuse me popping back and forth , am supposed to be going out, but not getting there yet .

Lol... well that's my house out... I don't but hubby does... not in the house, but he has a gazebo and a shed.
And seeing as he pays the mortgage and all the bills..... well, what he says goes! And he's cute!

lol Wanda, no smokers here....( in my rented house) and don't think there have been for many years either.

add... Daff , was just about to say that if there was a smoker they could have their own place to do it :) Shed or Gazebo whatever... every man should have one anyway lol ( my son has the garage for all his electronics :)) )

Roxanne , that's what I go with also...I had seen a number before renting this, the agent said 'it's older and cluttered' you'll have to look past that'...which is easy for me anyway, but the atmosphere caught me as soon as I walked in :) It has been a much loved family home.

Hi Rose,
I do think houses hold memories,Ive often walked Into house and just cant wait to get out of there,Some friends of ours bought a beautiful House, Indoor and out door pool, games room etc! it was beautiful to look at but as soon as I walked in it was like a black cloud over me! terrible feeling!
they had nothing but bad luck in that house both had serious illnesses and ended up going back to the U.K,I really think the house had something to do with it:-((

I'd like a house with large rooms that have large windows and high ceilings so the rooms would be light and spacious. I'd like an ensuite in the main bedroom and built in wardrobes, in all the bedrooms, that you can walk into which are fitted out with shelves, rails, drawers etc. A utility room, a study type room for me and another room for the kids to put all their stuff eg Nintendo Wii in. A nice sized garden with someone to do the gardening would be nice too.
