OK I'll admit to shouting and swearing second time round, but as both birthing rooms were occupied and I had gone into second stage and was told to hold on......well, have you tried NOT pushing in second stage??? Yeah I swore, with my hubby trying to get the gas and air on my face lol

Dear All

Yes, Maria's birth scene in "Coronation Street".

Totally unrealistic.

Wouldn't Tony have panicked more?

and the way he got his shirt off so quick.

Excuse me, this was to boost the female viewing ratings!

And how come he got another shirt on for the ambulance scene!

Did he carry a spare?!

What about when Violet the barmaid gave birth in the Rovers.

There were people propping up the bar looking!
No shame!

Best wishes to all.
xx

I had pethidine with my first and was so spaced out, also had gas and air which made me sick, they took baby and I didn't see her for a couple of hours as she was in the nursery (we didn't have babies with us in those days). They left it too late for pethidine the second time and I refused gas and air so felt wonderful and alert afterwards, had no stitches either time.

I had nothing with my 3rd (and final) baby, no pain relief at all pmsl. That wasnt planned, but the staff didnt believe I was in labour, they thought I was being a drama queen. I was standing up til the last 15 mins lol.

"Most women are in labour for a long time, for the first baby at least."

How long was she 'in labour' for?

"like all tv births they keep their knickers on lol"

I can't help thinking that some of them should keep them on nine months previously lol
