Ed lol whiile you were going the whole route of canal...so was I !

thanks CarolB, Uzzi, Gwyn...I spent a bit of time last night on Docklands ancestors looking at photos (to no avail) I think I shall have to do a bit of travelling for this one! Down to London to the watermans hall, and to Hounslow library which I suspect might have some info....

Thanks so much to everyone for looking...will let you know when I do!

Rose great photo.

I thought to begin with that was railway tracks in the distance ( behind and to the left ) but OH said no it is the fence cross supports ....duh so it is !

Not a lot of help mind as that doesn't say whether canal or railbridge.

What is it that we see through the fencing, -Could it be railway lines?
I don't know the area, but great photo.

Dang Rose - I'm sure I recognise the ballustrade of that bridge from somewhere!

I've just trawled the Internet for all the Grand Union Canal bridge photos from Invinghoe to Brentford - I'm feverishly trying to think where I ramble and cycle to see if I can find a match for you.

would a canal bank have such a slope.?????

There is normally a path beside canal on either side for the horses that pull the barges.

Hi Foggy, that's what I wondered about the man in the cap lol, in the original just under the bridge does seem to be reflection on water which you can't make out when I scan it in ...so I am wondering if the train took them and they are on canal bank....oh for another inch or so of photo lol
