Well things are moving...the senior manager concerned is now subject to an official griveance investigation. One of my own staff has also resigned and is pursuing the same type of grivance against the same person....and even better my solicitor has said I have numerous elements for a constructive disimssal claim.
Please dont let work place bullies win - fight back its a great feeling

I hadn't caught up with what had happened Colin, but I am very glad to read that you have a new job, and in standing up for your own rights will hopefully stop this person from doing the same to someone else.

Glad you stuck it out, it can be harrowing going through these procedures and easy to give up. Hope you get compensated and that you get on really well in your new job.

Well done Colin!
You weren't alone - even at work!
Bullies always need targets - we just all need to stand up to them.
Strangely, since the person who bullied me has gone to a different department, other people within the department I am in are realising just how 'controlling' she was!
Although I don't get her pay, I'm now essentially doing her job. (Ironic really as she insisted I was incapable of doing my own job - let alone her apparently 'more responsible' job).
Little things - like her insistence a certain form be filled in - many thought it was an 'official' document - not just a form she had created.
Her insistence people did things a certain way - as if the whole department would fall apart if they didn't - they're amazed when I tell them it's not THAT important - if they make a mistake it'll take me a few minutes to put it right.

As they say, what goes around comes around

Oh Colin, what a lovely man you are, you have integrity and have stuck to your guns, knowing in your heart that you felt that the dismissal of this lady didn't hang right with you......

During the 60's and 70's there were plenty of jobs about, you could leave one job and go straight into another, but it seems that today some people are taking advantage of the shortage of jobs, by forcing their ideas on others.....

Good for you Colin, and very good luck in your new job....

Very pleased to see that right will prevail Colin, well done you for sticking to your guns and now this person will find out that bullying isn't the way to go, especially with someone else taking the same action as you. It's good to hear your Solicitor feels you have a strong case too, all power to you.

Keep us posted and hope the new job is fine.
