My old food obsessed cat managed to push a heavy glass cassarole bowl with lid off the worktop and it smashed in glorious fashion on the stone tiled floor earlier this week...........the dogs wouldn't have dared be that cheeky.............lol

Lol Taff........you could be right . All he had on his mind was the one miserable slice of pork left in the bowl........he was trying to eat it ( no teeth ) as it lay amoungst the broken glass !.........I keep telling him he isn't long for this world ( but he is deaf.........lol ).

Well at least he could give the meat a nasty suck!!

I have 4:

One black and white, very placid but can speak volumes with one look lolol

One dark brown sh who is a scaredy cat, very rarely leaves the house and when she does it tends to be after dark on a summers night. I often call her my vampire cat lol

One (male) tabby....he's a big baby and loves to cuddle me.

One dark brown long hair, a little madam who loves to jump into the bath and have me run the cold water tap so she can drink from it.

Mine jumps in the bath (empty) and drinks cold running water from the tap. Won't drink it from a dish

she gets into all sorts of trouble, beats up the neighbourhood cats and will walk into anyones house if they've left their front door open but we love her dearly

I've always had cats, both sets have been brother and sister.

My first little cat, he travelled home on my shoulder (wouldn't stay in his box), used to sit in the middle of OH's newspaper when he was lying reading it, sit on our backs or around our shoulders.

He would walk my OH half-way when he went out, then re-appear on the way back lol, escort him home safely!

His sister came into her own when he moved on, such a sweet little thing.

Last year I lost my other male,Freddie ... very young, only 11 years old. He too would sit on our shoulders, used to almost trip me up ... he'd follow me everywhere, chat with me too.

His sister ... well, shy little thing that she was when we got her hiding behind furniture ... she now rules the house and my son's dog.

I do miss my Freddie.

Me, me me... my boys are Hermie, 18 months old, all cuddly, long haired like a slightly teddy-bearish tabby....... born on GR (well, not actually born on GR... but his and his siblings' births were monitored very closely by loads of members.... all of the litter went to live with GR members!! I went to collect him... and took his (probable) half brother... different mothers, same father... as well... he was a bit manky looking to be honest... cute, but manky... he has turned into a sleek, black miniature panther, with a very naughty streak... he is just so clever, and is convinced he is human... called Jethro after Gibbs in NCIS. He is a mummie's boy.... well, so is Hermie, really, too.

Then there are the girls.. Polgara, 16 1/2 grey and white... hand reared by me when her mum was seriously injured and still treats me as her mum... she and Jethro take it in turns to cuddle up to me at night since my diagnosis.... they chirrup to each other just as though they are having a handover, lolol

Then there is Rosy, about 14, semi wild... but beginning to spend most of her time indoors... timid and shy until you are sitting down, and then she becomes a really affectionate paddler... but doesn't know when to stop and go to sleep.. she is white with a couple of black splodges that look as though a child has had a paintbrush handy... and dipped her tail in the pot as well.

I still miss my beautiful Belle, who died aged 18 ish last summer.

I am besotted... my biggest fear was that I would be told that they would have to go somewhere else until I was well again... I honestly don't think I could have done it. They are my babies!!

Hello, it's great reading about everyone's feline pets. We have five in our family: Chloe (the beauty), Midge (the fatty), Pepper (3-legged), Sooty (the comedian) and Topsy (the baby). All rescue cats, some still with a bit of baggage, lol.

Oh - and, er, *whispers* a neighbouring cat sometimes comes in at night-time only (we don't feed him), and seems to appreciate a roof over his head. He has a loving family, but they have young children. His family knows he comes over here, and knows we don't feed him.

Hubby and I are also trying to get help for an animal welfare organisation in Tunisia, who deal mainly with cats and dogs - but that's another story.

Apart from all that, I hate cats! lol

Ours is a beautiful tiny tabby. Poppy is 11 years old but thinks she is a kitten. Her fur is the softest cat fur I have ever felt and she doesn't moult , so that is great!

She was the tiniest runt of the litter and we got her from an animal sanctuary. She technically still belongs to them and we get spot checked about once a year to make sure she is still well cared for.

There are a couple of bullying cats moved into our area so she prefers to be inside unless we go out with her and stand guard.

She's sweet and we love her a lot.

I've just logged on, and found that my posting, just under Igors on page 3, has been deleted! Does anybody know why?

I can only imagine that it's a glitch, as I was merely telling Igor not to worry about it, no offence taken etc. - there was no negativity or derogatory content at all.

Well, my cat is sitting on the arm of my pc chair reading every word...she does not agree with igor lol. to a point....I dont either lol.

My DIL would not go near my last cat when she first started coming about the house.They were dirty nasty vicious(sp) thing's that smothered babies as she was lead to believe.
She has changed her mind but would still never have one.

I think the fact that my old cat who is no longer with us :(( and my spoilt madam beside me now have been great with my grandkids never attacked or even scratched them once lol.
I would nerver have left a cat alone with a baby though.

All the cats I have had over the years have been good natured and friendly.
This one is a bit of coward though a bit jumpy. I had her at the vet yeaterday for her flu jag yesterday and she was trembling.
The vet said she is a very healthy cat and for a house cat. Nice and lean not a fatty that some house cats can be if kept indoors.
