...............................................................................old so and so but I HATE New Year. It is just another day and I just don't see what all the fuss is about. In my view nothing ever changes. I sincerely hope to be fast asleep when the old rings out and the new rings in.

Bless you love, I hope you have a wonderful new year, and that happiness comes your way.
Things do not always stay the same... sometimes, quite unexpectedly something wonderful happens.

God Bless,
Deanna XXX

We NEVER STAY UP. We don't drink, and we are too old for all the kerfuffle but we have to live in hope.... XXX

Thanks Sue and Rach.... It's good to know I'm not on my own:)

Like you Deanna I know I have a lot to be grateful for but after the last couple of years I am in fear and trepidation of what 2009 will bring.

Pat.... just thankyou :)

Lynda.... have a great time but believe me I wouldn't want to be within 10 miles of Jeffrey Archer or anything he owned :)

David....raise a glass for me.....but please don't ring at midnight lol.

You aint miserable Jean! - I feel much the same as you; you have to have an ounce of optimism though, else the bucket will be dry won't it?

You meet the Fockers, eat something naughty but nice, and get snuggled down under the duvet before midnight and off to the land of nod))))) I think I shall be doing very much the same.

New Year's Eve does nothing in particular for me, but New Year's Day has taken on greater significance since my brother died.
He died 6 days after his birthday and 1st January is 6 days after mine, so each new year marks an extra year for me, that he didn't have.

I'll stay up at home with the family, but they'll all be in bed by about 20 past 12.

I will be going out tonight to the local pub, but only under protest. This is the first new year without my dad and I know that mum doesn't want to go out on her own. I've also got a stinking cold and am very grumpy, so should be fun!

Oh, yes, I'm working tomorrow too!

Happy new year to you all...lol...

cant remember the last time I stayed up for New Year, sister used to ring every year till she got the message that we went to bed before it happened and she was waking us up.

Am hoping the eldest doesnt drink so much that she gets noisy cos I cant stand noise. Mind you hubby isnt feeling well hoping its just doing the decorating has strained him and nothing more serious so no doubt he will be huffing all night keeping me awake.

yessss I am at last a grumpy old woman
