Sue in Somerset

Sue in Somerset Report 21 Oct 2008 22:37

I've heard this evening that one of my engraved church windows was successfully installed yesterday afternoon.

I couldn't face watching them fitting it into the screen it has gone into just in case something happened. It's about 4 feet square and heavy and way up in a tower screen.

Anyway it seems the vicar likes it and I really hope everyone who goes there, and for generations to come, will do so too.

If anyone is visiting Cheriton Fitzpaine in Devon you can see my lilies pane in St. Matthew's church.

:)

Having just had a look at your website Sue , I can understand why you couldn't watch it being put into place........you must have spent many hours indeed creating such a beautiful , intricate piece of art.

Well done on the completion of your piece.

Amanda : )

I have pm'd you Sue. You must feel very proud.

You aren't the only one Susan, I would love to be able to make something that outlasts me and gives people pleasure.
My g. grandfather was a stone mason and worked on many famous places apparently, wish I could find out for definite so I could go and see what he did, he has had a lasting impact on those buildings. It must be so thrilling to know you have made something so beautiful.
