Sorry Gwen, your people make me steaming mad! S.i.l is happy for you to do childcare so your daughter can work, but doesn't let you in? What a pig!
What are your grandchildren to think if they see you treated like this, and hear so much? Not teaching them respect for you and all you do for them, or respect for anyone. Wish someone would stand up to them and tell them they are being evil taking advantage of you and being so unkind.

Julie, I am sure I will be an interfering old bat by the time I get round to being a grandma, which I hope won't be too long altho son still young, free and single at the mo, but it is only cos we care and I think you should take advantage of a time when your little granddaughter is asleep and you and your daughter can speak together, and say how unhappy you feel with her attitude towards you when you are only trying to help.
Maybe if she feels you are saying a bit too much, she could say a sort of funny codeword, to defuse things and show you she is feeling uncomfortable or something.

little one is very close to us she always chirpy jabbery and loves kisses , daughter said wen i stormed in house , 'you always say maybe its this maybe its that
i tld her yeh and thats just a suggestion , not a critisism im sick of you having a go at me its uncalled for
maybe shell realise now i not tellin her wot to do shes more than capable

Julie Ann I think she was wrong in doing that when you were showing concern. Not good.
Rubella is nasty, so if you'd shown no concern she could have justifiably tutted, but not for doing so.

Either you have to say,,,Look she is your child,,but she is also my grandchild,,,,,,would you rather I take not a blind bit of concern over her or would you rather I put my nose in now and again,,the choice is yours,,,

I dont have many concerns like this,,but I'm thick skinned and dont take any notice,and still carry on interferring,,,,,,,,,but know when I need to step back a bit,,,,,,:}}}

just wanted to let you know how twinkle toes is today
last night daughter told me shed come out in rash
today the doctor said with they tummy upset and the rash it looks like rheubella,
shes plastered in it all over like a burn her face and head are free of it, but its all over her little arms legs back and chest, she sat on our garden step having lunch with her grandad, and as i touched her skin and said to daughter its terrible, yet it goes when you gently touch it, she tutted,
i went bonkers
id just got in from work and showed concern as she was telling me, and as i commented she tutted,
i told her im sick of it every little thing i say is wrong,
i came in kitchen pottering then twinkle toes came in arms up for cwtch,
which was so sweet of her, shes gorgeous,
things were ok between us, but its like i just gotta shut up and listen to everything,!! all conversations
doc says just keep eye on it till friday, see how it goes and go back for tests

My kids and their Grandma are extremely close, always have been. BUT at the moment they are both really irritated by her. They always come home with glowing school reports which they insist on taking to show Grandma. They always come back upset as she will go on and on and on at them about the tiniest bit's in them where the teacher has suggested they should work on something as though the whole report consists of bad things. In fact this year my daughter actually refused to take her's to Grandma.

Aw, Julie*Ann, I remeber 20odd years ago, I had a HUGE bust up with my then Mil, she said some really hurtfull thing to me, like the babys clothes are a "grubby white" ,and your doing this.&
that wrong.Well I told her I was babies mam, not her!
It ended up with both of us in tears, but she continued to have what I considered sly digs at my mothering skills! I chose to ingnore them,and used to go for long walks (to calm myself down).
Now I'me a gran, I find myself doing the same thing as my M.i.l, but not as bluntly as she was to me,I would suggest try to let it slide(if you can) I know it hurts like hell, as you only have your granddaughters best intersest at heart, but as far as the tummy upset goes, I would deffinately insist shes taken to a Dr,.
Grannies reunited!!! Thats what we are here for!!

Ps, I just struck me, could your daughter have a bit of post natal depression?

My grandson is 27, and I still interfere, lol I can get away with it as an eccentric old woman...funny though he always ask my opinion now, its the training over many years,dont think I wil get away with it he has a new girl friend bit feisty......you sound a lovely gran.

howie knows exactly how strong minded his grandaughter is,
im sure if he reads this he will make a suggestion to her, and shell say yeh gang(thats her name for him) ill try that, an itll be more or less what ive said,
times ive had to ring howie to chat to her when her dad been in work, little madam
