Is this a particularly bad year for dog moulting for anyone else or is it just my Collie?. She's been moulting in handfuls for the last fortnight......no sign of it finishing yet either. I've never known it to be so bad or for it to last for so long !!! xx |

Thanks .......glad it's not just happening here !! I don't think I've ever hoovered so much and I am a dog less since last year ..... with the amount of hair over my floor you'd think I had about 5 dogs living here not just two. (one of the two is a Poodle and is non moulting too) Seems to be a Collie thing so far lol xx |

I have short haired dog and he has been rolling around the floor like mad .I gave him a brush the other day and could not believe the amount of hair that came out.Do it every day now and it is horrendous. It must make them very uncomfortable and itchy. |

Someone asked about moulting cats on a much earlier thread. My reply was to say she should save up all the fur and have it made into a nice, thick cardi or something. This was after a news item about a couple who did this with their cat, or dog fur, not too sure now.lol |

I have Lhasa Apsos and they don't moult, but everyday at the moment when I brush them I am getting more hair in the brush than normal, so maybe it is just this year. |

Oh guys, some of you know Im involved with a dog rescue and I was talking to people a month or so back about not wanting to take my disabled dog for grooming as I dont want him to be under any stress BUT he has such a thick undercoat I had to get his hair thinned. Id tried just about every brush and gadget on the market but they didnt seem to help. A girl told me about the Furminator - I didnt think it would be much cop but I was well impressed by the videos on their site and I bought the medium size one from a firm on the net called Simpsons of Langley. |
