Winter Drawers Ever Near

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 5 Jun 2008 22:21

Hi,

Drove down a side road on my way home tonight and observed a man with a can of black paint erasing the double yellow lines outside his house.

Round here double yellows are in all the side roads so that people can get a clear view when they are pulling out onto our road to avoid accidents.

This muppet's house is the first in the road and the lines run the width of his house so he's erased them no doubt so he can park another car in the road in addition to the one on his drive.

Carshalton Park Road Shelli.

Where it comes out onto Beynon Road from The Beeches. You turn right to go down my road towards you or left and you are at the lights by St Philomena's.

He wasn't being that discreet about it either. He was painting away while talking to a man and woman and it can't have been only me who saw him.

I know where you mean Aileen, and it will cause problems with the traffic flow if there is a car parked too close to the junction won't it??

Also, can't the car be ticketed even if the lines are no longer visable? Am sure if the lines are weather worn a car still be ticketed can't it? So same rule must/should apply in this case?

Let LBS deal with it about time they did some work

Ah, but, I have a drive which our car goes in, Errol. Pity the rest of our street doesn't do the same!

I would love to sneek out in the middle of the night and paint double yellows all down the street....lol...

Hi Shelli,

I have to go down that road early in the morning so am going to have a look at how much he has painted over.

The whole point of those double yellows painted where they are is to avoid accidents.
