Good luck to all yr 6 kids starting their week of tests and exams today. My daughter included. Don't agree with it, but she's worked hard and I'm sure she will play her part in making the school league tables look good for the government. |

Hi Catherine, My son did his sat's last week, he's a bright lad and sailed through them. I told him what I tell the other kids 'don't worry about them they are just tests to see if the school is teaching ok'. I know of some kids who get really strung up about them and some parents who get their kids into a real mess by pushing and pushing them for something that isn't that important. |

My son started his this morning. He's not worried but reckons he will probably die of boredom before the end of the week. Not one to exaggerate my lad. |

My daughter was saying this morning she has to do a SATs test this week. She's in year 3. Would this be true? I thought they only did them in Yr2 and Yr6 and of course high School. |

Year 2 SATs which are teacher marked / assessed. Year 6 SATs are marked externally. These are the ones used for league tables (to beat schools up with!) |
