Star, so sorry your two were feeling stressed by it all, bless 'em!! - they shouldn't be feeling this at 10/11 I so wish they would stop Sats for this age group.
I don't think it is so bad for 14 yr olds as gives them a bit of insight into GCSE.
My 11 year old is the most laid back chap with more confidence than my 15 yr old it has all gone really well according to him, I can't wait to see his results Lolol.

I was with Year 2 children today for Story planning.
We're not allowed to help, - just encourage and can ask questions eg. " What happened next?".
'Blood out of a stone' ..comes to mind for some of them, others had great imaginations.
In tomorrow to help the teacher with the actual story writing session.

Hi hope all your children are ok. Tuesday night i had one of my boys(Triplet) up half the night worrying about his reading paper(up until Jan this year he was nearly 2 yrs behind) and on Wed morning he had stomach pains felt sick got him to school told his teacher so she looked out for him, after the test , as i work in there school i happened to see him, well he was almost in tears and gave me cuddle, which he never does in school, i managed to reassure him and he was fine after.
Today apparently my daughter of my triplets came out of maths and was in quite a distressed state, she has been struggling all year with maths and i didnt really want her to go in for it(she being graded as U/level 1 in all her practice papers in yr 5 and 6 but no the school knew better. She did however go back into school and her booster class teacher voiced her concernsnot just for mebut also herself to the deputy head. I,m just not sure how she is going to be going tomorrow.
My 3rd triplet has just sailed calmly through and he was the one i was worried about.
Will be glad when its over, we go on holiday at begining of June so will spoil them a little then

Hope everyone else are ok?
Only tomorrow left yipee

Mine also said the reading test went well. He said he would give it 2 out of 10 for interest level - a bit boring (British weather), but the questions were fine.

My son's class are having an overnight camp in the school playing field as a reward, but they have to wait until July - it is going to follow straight after the Leavers Disco.

Good Luck to everyone with Maths tomorrow

How did the English SATs go today for all those with yr 6 children?
My daughter said she did ok on all the papers - except for the spelling one. Her spelling is dreadful though so I didn't expect anything else.

My daughter is a young Y6 and found it fine today - her school has played it really well and the children are not stressed at all - my daughter is looking forward to tomorrow.
SATS do serve a purpose but it is down to the school as to how they play it!

Julie

Julie Report 12 May 2008 19:06

Yes, my son said the same, and considering he is a bit behind for his age, i think since being in y6 he has done really well
