Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 28 Apr 2008 14:42

Hi Marion, I am glad things went well on Saturday. Your Grandson certainly helped things go the way your Dad would have loved!
May your Dad rest in peace now, his wishes are filled, and may you find the loss gets a little easier to bear as the weeks and months go by and you remember happy times. One day you and your Dad will be together again.
If you had heard the often funny messages that came through Colin Fry on Saturday for people in the audience, you would know this is not the end for your Dad.
My son made us smile when he saw my Dad soon after he died in the hospice. The nurse asked if we would like to say prayers at the bedside and took us there to Dad and closed the curtains round us. My son was then 7 and asked why my Dad's mouth was open. The nurse explained that later she would put a bandage round his chin to close his mouth up and my son was happy with that and not at all scared to see his beloved Grandad at peace after the pain of lung cancer. As we left the building, he said 'Grandad did better goldfish impressions than I can' and we all laughed, it really lightened the moment. Kids are wonderful.
Take care, Marion, have been thinking about you.
