Hello

I have came to a hard decision to cease doing the Birthday Thread, due to various reasons and not being able to commit to this thread the way it deserves, as most would know it was started by one of the most caring people in "June nr Preston" who sadly passed away while doing what she loved.

It really would be a shame for this Birthday Thread to be lost... so I am asking if anyone would be able to take it over to carry on June's thoughtful and loving idea, while the Birthday Thread is still going something of June remains on GR. I know she loved the site and all her friends on it.

I will continue doing this thread until we have someone to take over it. The last think I want to see is it to disappear from the boards for any length of of time.

I know it takes a lot of time and dedication, but Im sure you will agree it is worth it for Junes memory. So if anyone would like to take over from me in continuing this great thread, then please let me know either on here or send me a pm if you wish. I will help out in any way I can, or fill in if you are going on holiday or cant get to the computer if I am able to.

Also if this thread slips a bit. Can you give it a friendly nudge please, so everyone may see it :-)

Sue its been wonderful what you have done I met June a couple of times and I am sure she would have loved what you have done
I would do it myself but due to this ogre I carry in my head (GAD) I cannot.

My time is taken up with the sale of our home...and just too many problems for me to cope with..

I just wanted you to know that you are appreciated, stepping into June's shoes.

Hopefully someones else will step into yours..

I'm sure your Birthday thread has been most appreciated Sue and it has brought Joy to so many people, myself and Norman included. I only wish I could continue it for you but, as you know, I have my hands full with Norman, but I hope someone else will be able to take it on.

Gill, Tina, Mary, Sylvia and Ann thankyou for your replies. Yes I do hope someone can take over the thread, but until then I will continue on for a short while at least.
Tina the Birthday list varies, all I do is ask for Birthdays on about the 20th of the month for the next month's Birthdays, I dont keep the list from one year to the next as I dont keep track of who is still on Gr and who isnt, but more importantly, I would hate to be wishing someone Happy Birthday if they had passed away since their last Birthday and I didnt know about it. Main thing is I try and do them at about the same time each day, unless I have to go out.

Whoever decides to do the Birthdays can set it up to suit them at a time it suits, Im sure everyone will get used to the time they are put up.

You have done a superb job and someone pm'd me as they thought I might do it - sadly I am going to have to decline mainly because I feel I could not commit to it fully and would panic if I couldn't cope with it - I'm someone who always finds it very hard indeed to say no but I know I would work myself up into a right old state if I took it on.

I can't even consider taking over, I am not reliable just now. As much as I would want to help, I would let you all down...sorry.

I also don't like this new format.
I was always able to catch up on the birhdays on the old site, but everything has disappeared by the time I am on here

I'm sure some one will be able to help.
