Have read this thread with interest.
My eldest daughter is 30 next year and wants me and my two other daughters to go with her to New York for a weekend to celebrate. On top of that my very best (and oldest friend) lives in Miami and she has said she will join us for a proper girlie weekend - all I have to do is pluck up the courage to say yes!

Will look forward to hear how your stay goes WS. Hope you both have a fantastic time.

Ann Bubba Gump is a family restaurant and does lots of lovely basic but really good food. Red Lobster is a fish restaurant and you can choose the lobster you want (Oooh err)
Did take my camera into MSG but there wasn't a concert on at the time so not sure.
Didn't rate Bloomingdales but Macy's is great.
Make sure you go to the Dakota Building where John Lennon was shot and accross the road into Central Park you'll see the strawberry fields memorial to him.
Also a must is a nip into Tiffanys to buy a little keepsake. LOL

If you are young at heart and enjoy rock music go to the Hard Rock Cafe on Times Square too. It's a bit noisy but the food is lovely. The portion sizes are huge in any of the restaurants so cheap to share.
Promise I won't get too carried away tonight and make you dizzy. LOL

My hubby hated his time there. He akined it to Blackpool. But he is hard to please. Needless to say he's coming with us again and has been warned to behave. Too long a story to go into here. Suffice to say he nearly got arrested at the airport in France. We didn't go direct that time good job too as he definitley wouldn't have got in JFK with the multi tool he had in his hand luggage. I can laugh about it now but was fuming at the time.
Ann - Could be and if you go for a drink perhaps you'll get lucky.

Over the 40 years I have been a Claptonaholic I have lost count of the times I have seen him, from his ver yearly beginings with the Yardbirds, Cream etc. what make me smile now each time i see him, is he performs standing on the same Persian carpet each time, and no other members of the band are allowed to stand to stand on "his" carpet.

This time Chris Stainton is on keyboards and one of the other guitarist is Stevie Winwood ( ex Traffic, Blind Faith and Spencer Daivis Group)

feel I am getting boring to you all now

Christina.
Friends of mine stayed at the Milford and said it was OK. Lets face it you'll only use the hotel as a base anyway so as long as the bed is OK doesn't matter. It is the city that never sleeps. LOL
