Hi Can anyone else find any more about George Robinson (born July 14, 1806), died 21/11/1890 in Nocton, Lincs. He married Elizabeth Tooley in 1833 in Boston, Lincs.
Ideally, I am looking for where he lived and any more about his ancestors, also those of Tooley. Don't know where/ when she was born, her occupation, and don't know anything about her ancestors. As far back as you can go would be great.

I already have some info on the couple's children.

Have you used any of the resources suggested to you on other threads to do your own research? You really need to learn to do this rather than expect others to do it all for you. Help is available but you seem to have big expectations.

Do you have the couple in any census?. The 1841 will tell you if Elizabeth was born in Lincs. Later census should give more information.

Why do you have this obsession that women if that time had an occupation!

The Lincolnshire FHS have lists of parish bmds available via Genfair. Join that FHS and you will be able to add your name interest to their list and contact others with the same interests. I’m assuming you have checked others trees on here and on Ancestry.

Free reg doesn’t give a birth for George in Skirbeck.

Several sites seem to caught up in todays connection issues and Abby doesn’t give the source fir her resukts.

The population of Nocton in 1841 ( source Genuki) was 553. There wasn’t a big change over the years.
It is quite possible that actual addresses were not recorded on the census forms until 1911. This was quite common in small places.

Added: freecen have a George Robinson in Nocton in the 1851 census - a postmaster of Park Lodge.

Park Lodge would have been a gate lodge for Nocton Hall:

At one time the owners of Nocton Hall were Robinsons - 1st Earl of Ripon and others - (see the Wikipedia link above).
In such a small village, the postmaster in the lodge may have been a minor member of the family.

The Earl was born in Yorkshire and had been a prime minister ( Wikipedia)

George seems to have come up in the world as the 1841 census ( freecen) has him as an AgLab.

1861: they were living at "Top Lodge and Post Office".
George was an ag lab; Elizabeth was postmistress.

1871: no address given, but apparently next to the Vicarage (at least according to the census listing).
George was still an ag lab; Elizabeth was Manager of Post Office.

1881: no address given.
At the age of 74, George was a Road Labourer. Elizabeth was a "labourer's wife".

How did you find his exact DoB?

Skirbeck was his abode when he married.........NOT his PoB.

1851 and 1861 he says he was born in Nocton

Her age is recorded as they married by Licence, not after Banns
