Hi, Sue.

Or tower?

And would the M be metres, or miles?

suzian Report 14 Mar 2009 17:31

Hi Liz

I'm picking up a little bit (a very little bit!) of knowledge about Germany and Bavaria in the 17th century. Could W be Westphalia? Apparently the Treaty of Westphalia (1648) ended the Thirty Years war in Germany. So now you know!

OK - does that get us any where?

My internet not good today so I keep disappearing, sorry! And I'm trying to do some work at the same time, so not researching at the moment.

Brought forward what we've guessed so far!

the W W T is 1 of the B M T in Europe...157 M W a C w B A at the S in the C of W

Hi Liz

Probably not! I was looking for a W which had a connection with Germany and Bavaria in the 17th century. I was trying to see if the T could be Treaty and the C o W the Council of Westphalia - but I think I'm way off beam.

I'm off out for half an hour. If inspiration strikes in the meantime, do let me know.

Speak later

What about if the B is biggest and the 157 M W is miles wide?

suzian

suzian Report 14 Mar 2009 19:20

Another red herring, no doubt, but the towers of Cologne cathedral are 157 metres high!

So could it be:

the W W Tower is 1 of the Biggest Manmade Towers in Europe...157 Metres W at Colgne w B A at the S in the C of W?

Can make the connection with the Cologne Cathedral, yes it is it being 157 metres high, but Jackies clue was 1660. (can't see any relation to that date.)
But Cologne is in Germany, so see where you are coming from :)
There isn't a C C in the Q, so is the Cathedral known by another name..?

Hi All

Have to admit, I'm clutching at straws with this one.

I've been down the road of treaties, towers and practically everything else starting with a T

And, yes, Cologne is in Germany now, but was it in the 17th century? Not that I know the answer......
