Well done Deanna, I think that is great, I actually never thought of taking and printing a photo from a webcam. Was it a good photo?

Poor Alan, is he suffering? When you say he can't breath, is it asthma or emphysema or similar? We have a friend who, since christmas developed a cough which wouldn't go, then theys ent him for tests and x-rays, found fluid on his lungs so he has oxygen to take when necessary, he was fit and playing golf in January, now can't walk 50 yards. And they don't know what has caused it.

Carole Report 11 Aug 2009 22:06

Hi I'm feeling a little better, and starting to do housework! Today I tried adding more to my family tree on tribalpages and noticed the death cert I was so excited about and waited over a week for was in my folder twice! So I spent £7 on a cert I already had!! Shouldn't have tried doing my tree while so low!
Dad is still in hospital. Mum phoned today panicking because she had a letter saying she hasn't paid her water rates, ( she pays by DD) So wants me to sort it out for her, ME! ha ha . She just can't understand how confused I am.

Anyone had any news of Eileen? I pm'ed her and it's not usual not to get a reply.

Love to you all, hope you are having some peace and relaxation

I have a feeling that Eileen may be in Ireland with her family, remember her telling me after I got back from Dublin that she was away for 2 weeks. I hope that is were she is was only thinking about her before.
Where are you Lily, have not seen you posting for a few days and I've not been on fb to chat, hope you and yours are well.
It was nice to chat to you today Carole, hope you are feeling even brighter as the days go on.
Caz, I am sorry I've not been in touch with you for ages either, I will try and send a pm within the next few days xx
Deanna, glad you got the technology sorted to speak to your son and hope that your hubby gets some answers about his poor health.
Gail, sounds good about you getting a scooter to get out and about a bit more, it must be a dreadful worry to be out on your own and be afraid of falling.
Oh Mary, how exciting about your iminent retirement, we will have to have a cyber party on here for you. Hope the children are enjoying their camp and you your break?
Colin, David and Ann , thank you very much for your kind thoughts xx, hoping that you are all well?
Liz, thanks for the pm, I have'nt got a mobile at the mo because I washed it, so can't text you but let me know when it is a good time to phone.
Hi to you Mummo, don't think we have spoken before but hoping that you are feeling ok.
~~~~~~~~ to anyone else I have missed, I have tried to remember everyone but know I will have missed someone important out, forgive me xx
Things still pretty rubbish here but not much can be done at the moment, I have some big decisions to make its just being strong and brave enough to do that.
Three more weeks on thursday and my little darlings go back to school and I wont have to go on a train ride every blooming day with little boy, autism, don't you just love it!!!
AnninGlos Report 12 Aug 2009 08:47
Claire I am sure the holidays must be very tiring for you, does little boy love trains, or is it just a way of keeping him on the move while restricted!!!
When you say you washed your phone, what make is it? Have you tried drying it out in the airing cupboard? My OH recently bought a phone off ebay that had been through the washing machine and (I don't know how because he is not here) I think he replaced one part and it worked again.
Carole If your Mum pays by DD and she has not stopped it then you need to ask the bank why it wasn't paid, or she does if you don't have power of attorney.
Glad you are feeling a bit better, keep going you will get there.
clairejo Report 12 Aug 2009 09:04
Ann, trains are his life at ther moment, he would quite happily sit on the train in his wheelchair for hours on end with a mcdonalds break in the middle. So I have to use his love of trains to my advantage, first shopping then trains he will then quite happily be pushed round supermarket knowing that his beloved trains are next.
Hope everyone has a good day xxx
Sharron Report 12 Aug 2009 11:01
There was a time when my dad became increasingly worried about the electricity bill.
In his endeavours to keep his money under control he was overpaying everything and the electricity bill was coming in with a credit on it which he read as a debit.
So,every time he paid the electricity bill it came back bigger each time and he was struggling to pay the bills,which were getting qute huge by then.
I didn't know whether to stop him when he finally told me or let him go ahead and buy the company.
Silly old s*d!
Carole,make sure she hasn't paid it twice and is reading a debit as a credit.
Just have to get ready to go to the dentist, not looking forward to it but want to see what they think about the now smallish lump in my mouth, after the consultant said he wanted me to go back and see the dentist. He did say it was nothing really nasty but I hate having my teeth messed around with, and hope this one won't have to come out.
Catch you all later, take care, am thinking about everyone.
Dear Joyce we know you are here for us, what a wonderfully giving/caring lady you are.
ClaireJo you will love this. Colleen had to go for bloodwork this morning and she had Gareth with her. She was #27 and they were calling #16 in the queue. They got a seat and Gareth spotted the hand sanitizer bottle on the desk, after 20 -or-so runs to the desk to re-sanitize his hands, the girl at the desk took #27 next, and announced to the waiting room that if anyone had any objections they were free to say so !!. The other thing was that there was a very obese person in the next seat and Gareth was fascinated with their very big legs which were stuck out in the aisle.Each trip to the desk involved climbing over the big legs. Colleen returned home very quickly, with a case of the giggles.
We have had multiple thunderstorms and high winds the past 3 days and looks like it's about to start again.
carole so glad to see you soun ding a bit more chipper . . .
Liz this week's project has been the linen cupboard. Nothing went back in that we don't use, but 4 families have benefitted through Freecycle, and my cupboard is tidy, we have more than enough for our needs, and I've conquered another thorn in my side. I don't know what happens when i clear books, as fast as I give some away, others take their place, I think they reproduce on the shelves . . . .
Have to run, Gareth has disgraced himself by running down the road when he was supposed to get in the car, so now his mum is going alone and I get to watch the little *&^%$#*&^%$ upstairs, despite him saying 'sorry' over and voer. bring on the dogs . . .
catch you all later.
Dear Mary, can I please borrow Gareth next time I have an appointment, I am sure he would save me hours of waiting around. I would also get the giggles. How long now for the dogs to come, do they have names yet? I bet you are all looking forward to having them as part of your family. Some of my cupboards also need cleaning, when you are through with yours.
Thinking of everyone, so do not think I am not. This thread is a real life line.
Well I tried to have a conversation with the chickens today, I think they saw me coming and would not stand still long enough for anything meaningful. So then tried the cats and only the oldest one was awake, so we had a chat for a bit and yes she did answer back as it was feeding time and constantly meowed and kept running to her dish. At least I managed to have a chat.
Love and hugs
Gal
Edit: I forgot to mention, I also love trains when we are close enough to catch one when in the city it is a must for me to take a ride. I also love just sitting at the station and watching them.
Mary, now that really made me laugh, our children are good at getting us seen quickly!!
Fun and games here this morning after I posted, P unlocked the front door and went off running down the road in just his underpants!! I was in the process of getting dressed (well I had taken my nighty off) when I realised the front door was open, mad panic to find my dressing gown and off I ran down the road to retrieve him, unbeknown to me the dog had got out to and there he was escorting P back home. I know have to carry the door keys around the house with me so we dont have any more escape bids.
~~~~~ to our lovely Dutch x
Oh Gail, I could hire P out for all train enthusiasts, he would get you on free xx

Oh what a day! O.h. was home late and he was supposed to be taking me to dentist then we were meeting with my son to get parts to install his dishwasher, . After much faffing about with o.h, he is the biggest faffer I know lol, I got there just about on time and saw the new dentist, a lovely young woman who is Rumanian with Greek ancestors, most of the staff at the dentists are foreign, lots of Scandinavian people, have had a Nigerian one and others, but they win lots of awards for the state of the art surgery and work so feel happy there.
The letter etc from the hospital hadn't arrived so she had a look and says I definitely have gum disease and that's what caused the lump she thinks. I told her my Mum had the same problems but had all her teeth out at 21, and her Dad bought her a set of false teeth as her 21st present! She said it can be genetic and as I am my mother to a T, it's obvious I have the same trait in my mouth too! Had a clean up and she made an impression to make me a nightguard to try and stop me clenching and grinding my teeth, as that can exacerbate wear on gums and bone. I had one before and it was awful, I couldn't wear it but will have to try again and see if this time I can cope with it. Have to chase up the xray and letter from hospital and go back in three weeks for further cleaning and to get the guard and then have to go every three months for cleaning to keep on top of plaque and such. If all this means I keep my teeth a bit longer I am happy to do it. Misery guts wasn't where he was supposed to be when I came out and couldn't get hold of him on his mobile, it was switched off, but luckily I met a cousin's daughter so had a natter with her, that cheered me up and then when o.h. finally turned up, we went to meet my lad, get the bits for his dishwasher, and all three of us went to Sainsbury's cafeteria, had two for £6 meals so had 4 meals and shared the fourth one between us lol Fitted in a bit of grocery shopping too and collapsed in front of the tv when I got back lol

Catch you all later, have to do some paperwork for car insurance etc.

Had a very lazy day yesterday to recover, managed to get the dentist's Practice Manager to track down the letter from the hospital after they told me when I phoned it was typed on 24th July, the day after my apptmt so sent out soon after. Seems I have to fill in a consent form for the hospital to send the copy xray to my dentist and I have to pay for the xray cd, between £8 - £10. As the Practice Manager said it is worth that to prevent having to have a further xray as they aren't good for you, and I have had many over the years for various reasons, on my teeth and other bits of me!

Strange isn't it Liz, you'd thin N Health was N Health but even the different departments can't help each other without charging somebody. Still, as they said it will be worth it to prevent another x-ray and to save your teeth.
