What will they do - when folk literally cannot afford to pay any longer - the extortionately high prices for :

household fuel
food & essentials
petrol

? ? ? ? ?

British Gas are now the third supplier to hike their prices up this month - 15%

But when will it all end - do they really think we all have bottomless purses ? ? ?

Awww soz Hayley lol

I know what you mean - I try not to worry but can't help it - with wage increases falling far behind the cost of living increases, it's starting to become a real stretch and I just worry how far will they push us all towards the poverty line :O((

We are looking twice before purchasing non essentials...... at least the spring is on the way - no lighting bills and no heating on then either.

I agree with the basic premise, but I wouldn,t be an old person if I didn,t say we used to have proper inflation - but realise that sentiment is not much good to struggling families today.

Happy days

well I'm with SWALEC for both gas and elecrricity and the day before yesterday they rang to tell me they are reducing my monthly payments cos I'm a loyal customer!! I'm on Easywarm for the over fifties and pay a fixed sum every month and can use as much as I like, so it does seem strange that British Gas are hiking their prices

Staffs Col Report 18 Jan 2008 19:15

I am unemployed...not through any fault of my own, simply my employer decided they could get cheaper staff by going overseas with their call centre operations. Beacuse OH is at work I get £59.15 a week to live on and to pay for such things as attending selection tests and assessment centres (the DSS will only pay travel costs of 'interviews').
We still have to pay council tax, bills and heat and light our home. It is a ruddy struggle and if it wasn't for a close family we would be suffering even more
