It works - I tried it in the run up to Christmas not only did I get a good nights sleep but so did OH! And thats what counts - he had resorted to earplugs and was threatening to move into the spare room.

Just reminded me Buggs that you can use Olbus oil. That is really powerful and does the trick.

Also, when I have a cough I take a flask of hot ribena or similar to bed with me as a hot drink stops a tickly cough.

I hate getting a cough, I'm of the age when I start to cough I have to run to the loo!!!! Difficult when you are asleep in bed!

I was the one who suggested it in the first place! I had it passed on to me from an Internet friend and I'd checked on hoax sites to make sure it wasn't a hoax.

I've used the Vicks on feet myself for a couple of weeks before and after Christmas and it does seem to help me. I had a stinking horrible cold but I managed to sleep OK at night.

It's well worth a try. It didn't work for my husband but seems to have worked for the majority of people.

Hope you get better soon Hayley - tonight have a long hot soak before doing it - and get to bed first so there is not disruption.

Also if you are not working today (being up since 2.30 I doubt it) call your GP and make an appt. A cough should not last this long, you want to make sure it dosent turn into something like Bronchitus, Pnumonia or Plurecy.

A few years ago I was too busy to see the doc about my cold that lasted for months - until I was on the verge of hospital - by then Pluracy was so bad it took me 6 months of meds and another year to fully recover....

See your GP dont be silly like me and learn the hard way.

Sorry to hear your Vic's never worked.

Both my oh and I had a rotton cold and a cough that went on for about 4 weeks.never thought it would go away. I joked that we both had kennel cought lol

Dr's are against giving antibiotics now,unless they have too.

I put it on this morning...got a few funny looks in the office ...,and not coughed as much...I have not got an infection as it doesnt hurt.just my throat because of coughing.....lol

You nugget, you were supposed to put it on last night and go to bed with it. Then wash it all off this morning. Thats why the socks, so you don't mess your display sheets up.
