I did see the start of the thread last night, then switched off and went to be thinking 'there will be tears before bedtime'. When a thread starts to gain momentum like that there appears to be no way to stop it escalating other than everyone stopping posting on it.

I could not agree more. If we all stood by that there would be far fewer problems on both Chat and Gen (and occasionally Tips).

Incidentally something that seems also to creep in sometimes is a 'push' by some towards a them and us situation with Tips and Gen. we are all on the same site, I post and read both, I like both. Don't please let this situation escalate.

Sorry Gill if my gob ran away with me, its not often I get annoyed.

The thread in question has been pulled...maybe it would be a good idea to stop talking about it now... so that those people who have been hurt by it can recover...those people who did not see it do not feel that they need to remark on it...those of us that were involved in some way, will stand by our friends, as we are the ones who know how they felt after the original 'Joke' thread.

This is not a thread to right the damage done last night, that is over and done with.

This thread is purely for voicing the time for harmony - it is nearly christmas, bullies and the like need to understand we all hurt at times and they do too.

It's a lets all be friends thread.

May I ask ...... if everyone just ignored the "Nasties",

wouldn't that be the best idea ??. Carrying on with your own exchanges as tho' the offenders were not there seems to be the best way IMO
