Sorry Kitty 3 is incorrect!

12 The three Wise Men
According to the Bible the three wise men travelled on camels from the east, following a star that brought them to Bethlehem to find baby Jesus. They bought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. We celebrate the myth of the three Kings through the timeless carol, 'We three Kings of Orient Are'.

6. It was the day the rich gave presents to the poor
According to British tradition, Boxing Day was the day the wealthy boxed up gifts for their servants. It was also the day in which money collected in church boxes was distributed to the poor. This practice was banned in the 14th century as being offensive, but became widespread once again in the 19th century. Today, traditionally people write their thank-you letters to those who gave them gifts. It also called St Stephen's Day.

7. In 1647, Puritan leader Oliver Cromwell led the English Parliament to pass a law banning Christmas celebrations. He considered feasting and revelry on such a holy day to be immoral and anybody caught celebrating Christmas was arrested. The ban was lifted in 1647 after Cromwell lost power.

8. The day to make Christmas pudding
Making the Christmas pud traditionally takes place at the beginning of Advent on 'stir-up Sunday'. Each member of the family would make a wish whilst giving the pudding a stir. Stirring should be done in an east to west direction to commemorate the visit of the Wise Men to the infant Jesus.
