Lynn you are not daft. You will be fine and just think of the 6 weeks recuperation period - all that time to play on here without feeling guilty !!!
My mom had this op (not even going to try and spell it !!!) at 75 years of age and afterwards I kept saying dont do this and dont do that - she whispered in my ear - 'dont know what all the fuss is about'. She is now 84 and she came out to Spain for a week in April.
Will be thinking of you.
Take care

Hi Lynn,

It's natural to feel scared, so don't put yourself down. I wish I could say something to rid you of your fears.

As Sally has said, take the aftercare advice very seriously and adhere to it. You will feel wonderful in a couple of months time and life can start again.

Will be thinking of you.

Whoa! Hold it right there Lynn!

A hysterectomy is major abdominal surgery - apart from the physical aspect there is the hormonal too!

I know they do lots of them and they have brilliant procedures nowadays, I know it is usually smooth and the benefits are amazing.

I had a related op (and this was just an overnight case) earlier this year. I was so scared that all my veins buried themselves and would not come out for the anaesthetic!

It has revolutionised my life. I wish I had done it years ago, but I was still terrified. It was worth it though.

You are a sensible person and you are aware of the risks and have a respect for the unknown.

I will be thinking of you on Tuesday. You will have to live like the queen for 3 months at least - think of it as a voyage to another country and a new life!

I have heard from friends who have had this op, how much better they felt after it.....so much so that they did too much too soon......

I think its only natural to be worried about any test or operation, because it is not under your control, you have to depend on the skill of another person.....but as I said I have known others who have had it and been very glad not to live with any further discomfort....

Please remember though LAS to follow the advice given for aftercare, you may feel so well, but you still have to take it easy for a bit.....good luck.....x sally

LOL Dizzie........what are you like? :)))

As a fellow softie............... I think it's normal to be nervous about the operation.

I have had a general anaesthetic once, nothing to it..........all I did was go to sleep and wake up again!

I wish you all the best for the op and try not to worry too much about it.

xx
