Little Lost Report 20 Sep 2007 14:45

I'm more certain its Peter now. He remembers talking to Jayne about sleepless nights, but forgot that he mentioned to Peter that he wasn't sleeping well, and the book for Insomniacs turns up.

The only think I can't figure out is why?

Okay, you people. Stop this!

I'm an EastEnders addict. The weekly two hours on BBC Canada is taping as we speak.

Me and the co-vivant both watch Corrie -- a man who watches Coronation Street! he's been there for 7 years now, and my mum bought him the Tshirt, "Real Men Watch Coronation Street", for his last birthday -- but he just can't understand the east enders. Me, I'm from good East Ham / Romford stock, so I'm cool.

When I first introduced him to the Street, I was visiting him for the weekend early in our courtship. Sunday morning was 2.5 hours of Corrie, followed by 2 hours of English premier league, followed by going out for lunch. That week, Gail had just found out that Leanne was pregnant, and was lecturing Nick about the horrors of teenaged parenthood, including the price of what we of course call diapers. We stopped at the drug store, because I was having to get back into the wonderful world of contraception and wanted to check out any new advances that had been made in my absence.

When we left, I told him he owed me lunch, because I had just spent 25 bucks on "family planning". Well, he said, that's better than 10 pounds a week on nappies!

He does know enough about EastEnders that when Charlie Slater showed up on Little Britain a few weeks ago, he cracked up when Charlie got the "BOOM boom boom boom" for his exit from Fat Fighters. (That's his signal to come downstairs when I've finished watching my tape on Saturday mornings.) And he can spot Grahnt Mitchell when he sees him.

Anyhow, anyhow. I'm watching EastEnders from about 2 yeara ago right now. In addition to the hour a week from 5 years ago I'm still watching on PBS to catch me up to where we first subscribed to BBC ... soon, please, I need my life back.

So I don't know nuttin' about this Cindy stuff! And here I look at the list of threads for this board, and you're telling me all about it! Spoilers!!

Have pity on a poor foreigner.

Here's what I say. You must name all these threads "East Enders - Spoiler Alert!" Then we innocents over here can shield our eyes and click on by.

...... Oh, well, I'd just read them anyway.

Carry on!

I must agree with Teresa, I having been thinking it's Peter for a while now. I think he's trying to get back at Lucy for all the attention she has been receiving recently.

It did cross my mind that it could be Stephen, he broke Ians heart when he decided to stay with his dad, but I can't see a motive behind that one.

My money is on Peter.

He didn't say Steven, at the end though, sounded more like Kill me...maybe Kelvin? Did Cindy already have a son before Steven?

And the foreigner's peeking again -- but I'm not gonna think about it!

Re forgetting by the time I catch up with the real world ... a few months ago I inadvertently read something about whatsername shooting Den. Damn, I thought. So I waited for it to happen. And then after a while I got bogged down in work and backed up about a month on unwatched EE tapes and the tapes got lost in the muddle ... and finally I thought oh hell, I'm just going to pick the first one I find and watch it, and never mind what order they're in. So far, I've found and watched every one ... except the one where whatsername shoots Den (and, I gather, made the stringy-haired whatsername think she killed him). Lucky I read it first!

Now I'm waiting for the other thing I inadvertently read to happen (where do I see these things??). The other whatsername being a lesbian. (I watch shows for years and still can't tell you the characters' names ...)

That's right, that's how I saw that. I was googing Natalie Cassidy. Because I think (just to relate this to genealogy and all) that she is the spitting image of the sister I never knew my great-grandfather had until I pieced together the mystery when I started doing this two years ago (still haven't solved the mystery, just discovered it).

Eh, you can't tell from this version (I bought a digital copy and the resemblance is the proverbial uncanny):

http://www.picturehistory.com/product/id/20108

Found on line when I discovered her recorded as "actress" in the 1871, and idly googled *"ada hill" actress* and learned she was in the company at the London Adelphi from a cast list on line.

Html doesn't seem to work here, but I'll try to reproduce the picture:

Ada Hill

Anyhow, I figure I must be related to Natalie Cassidy. Right?
