Hi Caz,
You can complain to IPCC....google it for your area.
They are ex police and other legal types who can advise.
Pretty sure it stands for Independent police complaints commision.
They poice may say in their defence that they were exceptionally busy and called for appropriate adult when they were ready. Adult only has to be there for questioning for 17 and under.
Good luck x

Caz,
this is a wee message for your son, Tell him that everyone makes a misstake in thier life, but what the police did to him was injust and he must compain and you do the same.
When he joins the Army he will be a different person and a very proud one, and I have a huge rescpect for any person joining the Army.
My son was in trouble with the police through so called friends, he joined the Army and he is now a man. and was very proud to wear his uniform. now left after 4 years service.
A big hug to you both.

I dropped him at rugby tonight nd said

' i love you son, even though you may not want me to hug you, he said i know Mum, but why are they on my case'

Tears followed, when I was on my own and quiet,

Caz that is so sad, that that boy has been turning his life around, making plans for his future... and they are still on his back for part misdemeanours. Not right at all.

Then the way he was treated when they did come for him!
In fact the way YOU were treated, the mess they left in his room.
How did they get a search warrant ?

God love him it could be enough to make him feel like "what's the point?"

Just make sure he knows what the point is, and show him that you are behind him.
I have never had any reason to complain to the police, and I understand your fears.... but there must be someway to do it.
good luck with it all and, Josh, hold your head up high.
You have done no wrong.

Guinever,

I intend too, my OH works in a prison. If an inmate was treated that way, theyd get compensation in a big way.....very unjust..

Maybe if my son was an illegal immigrant hed deserve better treatment.....sorry if this offends, im bitter and angry,

Complain, complain and complain - I am so sick and tired of hearing about this sort of thing happening - go for it Caz and good luck. My youngest was accused many years ago and I did nothing - suppose I believed the police - and I was wrong he was trying to protect a so called friend. In this day and age I am afraid one has to look after ones own - no one else bloody does. Sorry for swearing but I get so annoyed.
Take care and pm me if you need to
Love to you and yours

This is disgusting. They do do it though. My 17 year old daughter was arrested at college after someone punched her in the face and she hit back. She had to wait 5 hours before being interviewed on her own.At 17 they told me she is not a child.I did phone them and tell them that if they dont feed her she will start getting shakes and may blackout lol so they fed her.My married daughter is having a lot of trouble with her neighbours and they keep calling the police on her husband. The last time they came she phoned me up and said listen.I heard them shouting at her.She was alone with 3 small children.I told her to tell them to get out. When she got rid of them she found one of her children missing. He was so scared he ran off to his other nans a few miles away. She reported him missing and reported both police officers. She is still waiting to hear. Double standards exactly, my lad and Dad who is 75 didnt even get an apology, it stinks, they need to chase the real scum of society instead of following tenous leads to boost their all important, crime figures,

Love to your lass btw,

Oh Caz , Until your son is 18 he is considered a minor and must be treated accordingly by the police . Ask for a copy of the report made including the interview . Then ask for a formal letter from them stating it was a case of mistaken identity . Also insist that any record of interview etc has this added or is removed from any record held . Also ask that your local police officer comes to see you both and explains . Its been proved that the police are more worried about figures than real crime prevention , don,t let your son become a victim of statistics . There for you ... XXX Kim

hi caz

its a disgrace they go in hand over fist and wen they get itwrong they dont apologise

my daughter was arrested at a friends house and her two mates they sent two unmarked cars for three 14 year olds... they didnt even phone or call and let us no even tho we only live about three hundred yards away from were they were picked up..

me and her dad went to the police station they made us wait hour before we could see
her they had put her in a cell she was petrified she had never been in a police station b4. they took her dna finger prints and photo .. they even had them do a video
and they put it with thirty others . she was in the cells for nine hours all becouse they
said one of them had took 2 pound off a lad
they got bailed and had to go back a few days later wen the lad had picked out who it was my daughter and one of the other girls
was found to be innecent and they didnt get an apology either my daughter was quiet for a wile afterwoods.. so i know what your going threw but the same nite a fella had been accused of a sexual offence and they didnt even put him in the cells a women pc was talking to him in the corridor and he even had a coffee in his hand double standards if you ask me

caz,
just seen this, deffo complain, you get in touch with head of that police station tell them you want to make a formal complaint, you have to fill in forms but you'll find they dont stick together in these cercomstances, then it goes to the independent complaints commission, long winded i know, some one from a different station will then come and go through everthing again with you, then the complaint will be sorted out and the officers will have permonant records of their conduct....................... it does work ive done it twice one of the officers was relocated because of what happened no one trusted him.......................
please deffo complain....
