Thanks for this Thread Hoff, I have updated the other thread as well.....I have been in a couple of these hurricanes, and it is very frightening, I do know that these people are use to them, and are are prepared, but it is the children that are so scared....and the 'poor' people that suffer so much, we don't have anything like this in England, thank goodness...so..please keep these people in your thoughts. In a few days, it will be all over the news, and you will see the damage it has done!!......and understand the need for these thoughts.....thanks.....Lilly |

Positive thoughts are with all those in the areas where Hurricane Dean can do damage, we get stressed by thunderstorms and heavy rain, these people live with the dangers all the time. Lizx |

Now 10:30 Saturday morning: sunny and dry in the north. Sadly my earlier report, submitted late last night, turns out to be over optimistic... My friends in Calibishi, Paix Bouche and Moore Park all now report even more damage than originally feared, with roofs of houses blown off, a high percentage of crops lost and flooding everywhere. In Portsmouth, two of the big trees opposite Barclays / First Caribbean bank have been blown over. The electricity, which you may remember I said came on late last night for the Portsmouth area, went off after a couple of hours and hasn't been on since. (Now 10am). Portsmouth looks like a ghost town with most of the shops shut... neither petrol stations currently open. |

I've seen a home movie of the last one to hit the Caymen and it's not nice to see the whole roof of a building blown off like tissue paper and people in the building screaming not haveing any where to run so staying put and hopeing for the best. not nice at all. God I hope they stay safe this time. Paul |
