Diana, shouldn't you rephrase that last remark, sadly I won't be marrying this chap lol I would have thought you would be glad not to marry him lol I used to write to a chap (in the days before the internet and emails lol) who was a Helicopter engineer in the Oman, I found his ad in a Private Eye mag that someone left on a train. I was working as a Clerical officer in the Red Star office at Norwich station at the time, and if I was on a late shift, the guards used to bring me magazines and papers left on trains to keep me occupied after I had finished my work! We wrote for some time, back and forth, and then he came back to live in England, Somerset he was from. We arranged to meet in London, so off I went, free travel and all that, and met him! What a let down, he looked nothing like the photo he had sent and was so old fashioned and not my type at all. We did stay friends for a long time, and he was such a nice chap, a Buddhist, and came to stay with me in Norwich, when I bought my first house, did some diy for me and cooked for me, as he was a vegan, and was generally an alright sort of chap. When I had my son, he sent us some lovely presents and we still wrote. His mum came to Norwich for a holiday one New Year and she came round for dinner and brought me and my son a present and was a lovely lady. Over the last few years we have lost touch as he married and then seperated, but I do have an address for him now so must write to him and try and reestablish contact. I am sure he will be pleased to know how my son is doing too, he was so interested and I don't think he will have had children of his own now. You just never know whether you will click or not when you meet someone, and it is often a good idea to get to know them first, so keep trying Diana, one day...... Liz

I made friends with a lovely guy online, we were friends for about 18 months and decided to try it out in a relationship.....and it worked, we got married in March this year. Jean xx
