Mine has always been about the £10 mark, Catherine - joined May 2005 so that must have been the price then. However, a lady I know from here was a week late renewing and has paid that for only 6 months! I would have waited till they sent me a sweetener of some sort!!! Even when you're busy sometimes it's nice just to have a look in - it can help to unwind if you haven't got a good book!! Good luck with the teacher-training. |

oooh Christine I paid £7.50 for the year- I agree with you though-Don't know what happened last night don't want to know but one thing I do know is that I'm feeling like the board- bored!!!! I would hope not, Lesley, but I do see what you mean. I take it there was 'trouble afoot' again then. To anyone who is planning to leave because of trouble on here - please don't leave for that reason. Remember why you joined - if it was for a good look at general topics or to cause a ruckus that's one thing - but most of us joined to help with our Family History! When I first joined I thought this was the path to much knowledge - well, you know what thought did, don't you!!!! Anyway, I think the site has a good search engine but apart from that, what makes it good is the help freely and willingly given by fellow members. Think on folks - if there are still areas in your tree that can be improved then don't leave; perhaps opt for a period of non-subscription for a while. Only problem there is that if you later decide to rejoin the subscription will be £9.95 for 6 months not the year that it is just now! |

Hi Lesley, Yes I think you could be right about loosing the general board if all this doesn't stop...it would be such a shame too. I don't come on here much now as I can do without all the arguments...I only log in now when I need to check pm's ect. My membership is up in 2 weeks and I'm not sure if I shall renew. I just hope it will improve for those who love this site and rely on it for Support ect..Take care everyone xxxx |

Hi Hayley Who told you that - LOL! It's not a bit posh where I live! I used to live in Stockport - Heaton Norris, Brinnington and Reddish. I won't say which but only one of those areas was less posh than where I live now - LOL! Lynne |

Hi Lesley I have had a couple of different board names, including Lynne in Sale. I joined in January 2003 but, as I said, I don't get much time to come on here these days and rarely use general because of all the falling out. That's probably why you have never seen me before. Yes, I am Lesley. Wednesday night my membership runs out. I'm starting a degree in September so I'm going to be busy with that and other things. I will miss this site though, or at least certain aspects of it, others definitely not. |
