Born and bred in West Yorkshire, but my great grandad was born in BRITON FERRY (Rees Morgan, very original!) Have been for a visit and it was exactly how I imagined it to be. Have always loved Wales and have been there many times.

Does anyone on here live there?

Pam, not sure when that will be or whether I will be able to talk o.h. into a third visit but if not, might be able to pop down by myself at some point. Would like to meet everyone again and those who couldn't make it in September. Glad you are getting a new car so you feel safe and confident about getting to where you want to be.

we have a home there in Gwytherin near Llanwrst very beautiful part of the wales not far from snowdon.

I'm in Cardiff and apart from a few years when my dad was in the army when we travelled around a bit have been here all my life,

Liz I will be with you next time you come to Wales, I'm looking for a new car so hopefully wont have car problems next time you arrange a meet.

After the death of William Jones in
1780-1847 The Buarth Y Foel Farm,Llanbadrig, Anglesey
was run by his wife Emma Jones
1788-1859 and her eldest Daughter
Elizabeth b 1820 and Son in Law
Richard Owen.
In the 1851 Census Emma is away
from the farm visiting a daughter
and family. After the death of Emma
in 1859 there was a dramatic change
( in my eyes):-
The farm which lies adjacent to
Buarth Y Foel is called Nant Y Fran
and it was occupied by :-
William Jones 1801-1864 and
Thomas Jones 1792-1844
Part Answer this William Jones only
appears at Nant Y Fran in the 1851
and 1861Census and he and his
family are from Canarvonshire.
So unlikely they are recently
related to the
Cemaes/ Llanbadrig/ Amlwch
Branch of the Jones Family!
The Thomas Jones is a local man and
his family are shown at Nant Y Fran
in the 1841 Census.
As his wife Catherine Jones died in 1829
it seems that he took another
Wife Elizabeth Jones b 1811 .
The second wife and a part of both sets
of children are shown in the 1841 Census.
Individually they are difficult to locate but
if you find Buarth Y Foel, (listed as Buarth)
in 1841 they are on the same page.
They are listed as Nant.
William Jones b1823 We know that this
William was the son of Thomas and
Catherine from the Official Wedding records
and that his parents William &
Catherine had lived at Nant Y Fran

the question is I would like to find out if there was a family link between the Buarth Y Fole William Jones 1780-1847, his wife Emma Jones 1788-1858 and the Jones from the adjacent farm Nant Y Fran Thomas Jones 1792-1844, his wife Catherine Jones 1796-1829.
The reason I ask is because I am trying to find out if the family farm was kept in the one family when William Jones the son of Thomas and Catherine took over the
Buarth Y Foel Farm circa 1860.
I know this sounds complicated but I would appreciate you havinga go for me . Kind Regards Joe in San Antonio.

My sister lives near Aberaeron and I love visiting - it's so quiet and relaxing. If you drive over to Tregaron and into the Cambrian Mountains, it's like being in another world - and jaw-droppingly lovely.

OH was born in Banbury but brought up in Cwmbran and his sister still lives there. He considers himself Welsh and has never forgiven me since I discovered his father was born in England when I started doing his tree!
