The fave at my school was cornflake tart. When the new intake of first years came in we would vet them for likes and dislikes. Kids who liked roasties and cornflake tart went to the bottom of the table selections while kids that liked cabbage and semolina went up the list. This was because the sixth formers at the head of each table served from the dishes allocated to each table so we could get other people's servings of the stuff we liked. |

Anything with pink custard, I loved it! I worked in a school a few years ago and enjoyed tasting it again, the ladies in the kitchen used to make it especially for me and used to tease me no end. Frances |

Loved tapioca and semolina and best of all treacle sponge and custard. Quite partial to chocolate sponge and chocolate custard. I work in a school so sometimes get treacle or chocolate sponge if I stay for lunch. Really hate home/school made rice pudding though! Viv |

My favourite was chocoate pudding with chocolate sauce. I worked on school meals for 12 years and it was still my favourite. David, our Manchester tart had bananas in the custard, didn't yours? Maggy |

Chocolate chip pudding with chocolate sauce was the best. Hated gypsy tart, that horrible pink custard, and pineapple "snow". When rice pudding with a teaspoon of grated chocolate was on the menu, half the school used to take the teaspoon of grated chocolate and say no to the rice pudding. Angela |
