We put ours up usually the first Monday in December for family night. The boys have one in their bedroom as well decorated with sweets so we're always having to renew them.I don't bother with streamers but have lots of other decorations. Wendy |

Why not put tree and decorations up and leave them there, then you wont have to take them down and put them up again the following year. |

When the kids were all at home they insisted that it went up 1st December. Now they are all married with families of their own the youngest daughter still puts hers up on the 1st, Her husband would have the tree and decorations up all year as he never had good Christmas's when he was a child, and he makes sure his children have good ones to remember. He even dresses up as Santa and comes in through the window just in case the kids happen to wake. One did last year and she was full Christmas day of how she saw Santa and pretended to still be asleep. This year though they are in a 3 storey town house so I dont think he will be climbing into any windows...........Must tell him NOT to use the chimney or santa may get stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lynn |

My Mum and Dad used to put all the decorations up on Christmas Eve when we had gone to bed, and there were loads. We used to have a 7 foot tree with about 4 sets of lights and covered in tinsel and decorations. There would be streamers from every corner of the room into the middle then tinsel inbetween these and lameta hanging from all of them. There was also fairy lights on the walls. This was all in the lounge. The hall was also decorated with a great big cracker hanging from the centre filled with little pressies and a small tree and streamers hanging from the ceiling. When we came down on Christmas morning it was like Fairyland, i will never forget it. Mum said they used to be up until 3 and 4 in the morning and then we would get them up at 5am!! Thanks Mum & Dad for these wonderful memories X Maggie |

Ours goes up about the 2nd weekend in December. We have a 6ft one in the lounge and a 3ft one in the conservatory. The small tree is entirely decorated (except the lights) with things the kids have made. The angel on the top was made by a little boy I used to childmind when he was 4. He's 11 now, but the angel will still be on top of my tree. The other decorations have been made by my other minded children over the years and by my grandchildren. We make chocolates to hang on the tree too and sometimes garlands of sweets and lollipops! My big tree has some decorations that were made by my Aunt in Canada years ago, including small knitted stockings with my children's names on (now oversewn with my grandchildrens names). I also have some decorations which were always on my grandparents' tree which have been handed down to me. Sue |

Usually around the beginning of December taking it down twelve days after Christmas. No doubt many of us have imitation trees so its quick and there no pine needles on the carpet. |

Usually a week before Christmas. We don't get visitors that often and I don't have kids so I don't see the point in going to all the hassle of putting decorations up and then as it gets close to Christmas I change my mind and it all goes up in a hurry. Mel |

I usually put ours up in the first 2 weeks before Christmas, I have 2 grandchildren with birthdays,6th Dec and 17th Dec, it does make the house look warm and cosy, even though they will both be 16,they still love it. A lady near me put hers up 2 weeks ago, said if she had her way,she would keep them up all year round. What a thought. I take mine down 12 days after Christmas. trish |
