My first, is my last. ( so to speak.) We met at a dance in 1962. I was 15, she was 13. I brought her a freindship ring ( remember those.) We went steady, for about 6 months, then she dumped me for another... ( sob.) Time went by, "tick-tock" ( 1970s ) I married. She married. I had children and we forgot about each other. After all, we were only childhood sweethearts. In 1991 ( my wife passed away.) I was down visiting my mum one day, and she said to me. Do you remember so and so from your young years. Well, my mum said, she owns a hairdressing salon just up the road. Curiosity got the better of me, so i dropped by to say Hello. She had been divorced for 13 years, and i was widowed, so we went out for dinner......say no more. We have been to-gether now since 1992, and we travel everywhere and enjoy our lives. What comes around goes around!!! Tony Oz

I was five and so was he. 38 years later, I still love him and he is my best and oldest friend. Have just reread that and should probably clarify that he is my friend not my husband! lol Daisy

Would I want to go back to then? No, we had fun times but we were both very immature and I wouldn't want to revisit that again. In fact, the growing up process was the reason why it ended, or more accurately, faded away. Our circles of friends grew whilst we grew apart, then that was that.

15 and his name was Paul.... I can still see his face now.... he dumped me after 7 weeks but apparently ended up living to regret it.... TOO LATE BUSTER!!

Kerry Report 9 Feb 2005 09:24

I was 15, He was called Rick and was also 15. Got together when we were in Cyprus(Dads in Army)My 1st 1st love and I hurt him so much, got attention from an older bloke, went of with him, that lasted 2weeks and for what? Anyway Rick and I hadnt spoke since we broke up in 1999 and I recently saw him at his mums 40th, where we talked and he told me he still loved me and asked me if we could work it out. Now though I am engaged to a wonderful man, Chris my 2nd love and he has given me our son Kian, the most precious thing in the world, I`m not going to risk loosing them to be with my 15 yrs old 1st love. People change, People grow and it wouldn`t be the same. Although I do know that if I hadn`t gone off with the older bloke, we would probably still be together now. I`m a great believer in fate and things happen for a reason xxx

We'd been friends since we were nine, I was coming upto 15 and he was month younger than me, when we had our first kiss. I finished it when we were 18 just after my Mum died. Still in occasional contact via e-mail. My heart still beats fast when I think of him even though I finished it for good reasons. I adore my husband and would never, ever jeapordise what we have. It's way too good. Naomi x PS - I just did a name search and his name has been added by another member.

things could all get very complicated if everyone gets in touch with their past loves, i came across an ex boyfriend in town recently, he was still arrogant and full of his self, and nothing to hold his nose in the air, it made me laugh

I was sixteen when I fell heavily in love with someone. He was a bit older than me and he used to come and collect me from my convent school where I was in the sixth form. The Nuns loved him.You see he was a Cof E Curate. We were waiting for my 18th Birthday when we would announce our engagement. In fact the whole parish was waiting for the Wedding. The Autumn I was 18 we did not announce our engagment as he had just been diagnosed with Colonic Cancer. I never got over his loss. I have had two marriages since .The first on the rebound was a disaster and ended in divorce and the second has been an extremely happy 24 years. But I still remember my first love with the pain of deep loss-Rose There are some lovely stories on here
