You're definitely not the only one Gillian - I can still remember my mum's co-op number - 304327. I thought I was very grown up being allowed down to our local co-op for a quarter of PG Tips. Carolyn |

Remember my mum's number - 14646. Also remember my 'aunt' who worked at our local Co-op cutting and weighing the huge pat of butter in half pounds and wrapping them in greaseproof paper. Wendy |

I can also remember my Mum`s divvy no. I used to go to the Co-op butcher nearby and can remember the saw dust on the floor. I used to push it with into piles my feet while I was waiting. Oh dear, does that give my age away? Frances |

Hi Gillian, Mom's number was 2121 really easy to remember. Last time I used one was in Scotland (Rosyth) in the late 70's. Magi ( the geordie one in Istanbul) |

My mum's was 2471 - and now I have a dividend card - over 11.00 on it so far - we get vouchers every six months and I save them for Christmas....along with my Tesco 'Clubcard' vouchers - 11.50 arrived this morning. And talking about shops as they were - do any members remember the tubes and wires they had in some to get cash and change to and from a central cashiers office ?????? - showing my age because I do...... |

Yes, can remember Nanna's was 38118, and mum's was 45081, the counter in the shop was lovely cold marble, and I used to love watching that cheese being cut with a piece of wire that had a wooden handle on the end! It was always a friendly shop, and everybody seemed to know one another, on the way home Nanna had one bag handle and I had the other, it certainly seemed heavy sometimes! :) |

Hi Gillian, Funny enough I remember my mothers number very well 3216688 and although I my self did have a number at one time I do not remember that one. It does seem a very long time ago now and my mother being a widow from the time i was 6 I do remember she used to get a share out just before christmas which always come in handy. Margaret x |

Yes, I certainly do remember the 'divvy' receipts from the local co-operative . We used to get a small green receipt, which was then stuck in a book and when you needed the money from it ( think it was a percentage of the amount you spent) you cashed it in and they would give goods in exchange. Now my age is showing.....!! Anne |

I remember it well both from a child and when I first got married. Our local Co-op was brilliant - I filled my book in with a list on Friday and got it delivered on Saturday morning by a lad on a bike. Any special offers they had they would put on for to subsitute normal priced items. Springtime we queued at the co-op office for out Divi plus a bonus voucher to be spent at any co-op except for groceries around November we got another pay out. Personal service with a discount thrown in that we could draw out or save for a later date. Oh those were the days.......................... |

I remember them but can't remember the number of my Mums. I also remember Co-op stamps, Green Shield Stamps and the Cigarette cards that you saved then. Like Karen just said though I have a Co-op Dividend card now which pays out around Christmas time. Sheila |

Karen just answered the question I was going to ask -don't you have Coop divvy there anymore? Just received my income tax slip from my Coop - my number is 6755. I got $178.19 in 'patronage funds' and I paid $11.73 in income tax. Nice though - I can get the $11.73 back. ..joys of being a 'Senior' |
