I have a ten year old girl too, I certainly wouldn't let her shave her legs yet, once you start you can't stop......mind you, she's seen me enough times with toilet paper on my 'nicks' thatI don't think she'll want to just yet LOL

Have you thought about having them waxed, at first it can be a little painful, and it would mean doing it every 6 weeks but it will weaken the hair and make it grow back thinner whereas shaving may need doing every few days to a week,it might be worth giving it ago. Age doesn t really come into it if the child thinks she has a 'hair problem'. Penny in Dorset

my daughter is very hairy and started shaving at 11, i found out by her sitting with her legs over me as they do and thought they looked nice and smooth lol, she said she was being teased so i popped along to the local hair and beauty wholesalers and bought some wax and strips for me and her and done them for her, last thing she needs is the hair to grow back thicker.... its saved me loads of money as i was regulary waxed and paid a fortune for the pain and privelege.. a qualified hairdresser or beautician can purchase these products for a fraction of the price the public pay.. peer pressure is far worse now adays !! michelle

Brian, i would rather a man had none on his head than a rug on his chest-YUK.luckily for me my hubby has about 6 hairs on his chest--i'd like to wax them but he won't let me,he's very proud of them as he had to wait until he was 33 for them LOL

I've never understood why women are expected to have lots of hair on their head and pretend there's none on their legs or under their arms whilst men are expected to have less hair on their heard but more on their bodies.

Karen nah just my luck to get the weird one who don't follow trends so I never know where i am with her LOL She is developing but there has been no mention of a proper bra ( she's got a soft one still) no mention of hair removal in fact nothing lol. She's quite mature in other ways though. I thought once she got to high school all this would kick in but it hasnt. As i said trust me to get that doesn't follow the guidlines, anything to make my life more dificult LOL Shelli p.s she's got the mood swings BIG TIME!!!!! she currently not speaking to me as I am evil, nasty etc and I just can't bear her to have any fun LOL

Liz If your alergic to wax, try sugaring. It's much kinder to the skin. A good beauty salon will point you in the right direction. Gerri x

Hi Karen I think one of the important things to consider is your relationship with her. If you treat her with maturity as you obviously do she will not feel the need to hide things from you. Lots of mums say'no' to issues such as this and so the children stop communicating. far better in my opinion to teach her the safe way to do things such as shaving and she will hopefully grow up thinking you respect her and not feel the need to do things behind your back. My girls are only toddlers but I hope when the time comes I will practise what I preach lol
