Why would the Queen Mother have had a pregnancy test when her husband died? - she was 51 years old. Do you mean when Edward VIII abdicated in 1936, when Princess Elizabeth became heir to the throne on her Father's coronation?

I saw him on the telly the other morning. I thought the way they interviewed him was abit aggressive, he was a very gentle man and, was not saying anything he should'nt. He was merely asking for questions to be answered. Some hope....poor fella' Deanna

Hi Bill, thanks for the explanation re: 2037. If what your Grandfather told you is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, what a shake down the monarchy is in for!!! With the way the scientific field is going, maybe your Grandfathers facts will be proven long before then. Who would have guessed 15 years ago that DNA data, obtained through a simple mouth swab, would change the course of history for many people? With your Grandfather being the cousin of the late Queen Mother, what relationship would that make you to the present Monarch? By the way, when 'box 24' is released I will be a very old lady (hopefully) and will either state 'I knew that years ago' or I will be too old to really care! Fascinating though. Deb

Margaret

Margaret Report 9 Mar 2005 02:41

The Prince who had fits was Prince John. He was the youngest son of George 5th and Queen Mary. There was a TV drama a couple of years ago about him. I think it was called The Lost Prince. Margaret

Not everyone conceives quickly - my parents were married 6 years before I graced their life and it was 5 years later before my brother joined me. Our young neighbour is now expecting her second baby after a seven year gap. Ann

You surely don't believe that 'The Powers That Be' will ever find it necessary to tell the truth to us peasants.

Sue Lambrini Smith

Sue Lambrini Smith Report 8 Mar 2005 21:56

bill- what truth could come out in 2037 ? surely whatever happened it will stay a 'secret' within the royal family ? there have always been rumours about the parentage of diana's youngest, but i doubt any truths will ever come out.

I wonder if there is any looking in. as Princess Margarets name is on this site. You never know the Queen must have some time at home doing bits and pieces.

I wonder if the Royal Family are reading this!

Ginny

Ginny Report 8 Mar 2005 21:45

presumably they would have had to wait for the child to be born - if a boy then it would be King - a girl - another good time princess !

Ginny

Ginny Report 8 Mar 2005 21:41

interesting fact - apparently when George VI died there was a delay in declaring Elizabeth queen as a pregnancy test had to be done on the Queen mum. If she had been pregnant and it had been a boy............
