Fi aka Wheelie Spice

Fi aka Wheelie Spice Report 17 Mar 2005 11:22

Just to let you all know that i had to make a very hard decision this morning. Yesterday I had to rush Angel to the vets as she had collapsed in my kitchen. this happened after she walked continuously round my flat, getting into every nook and cranny and even climbing walls to get round things. In the last 24 hours she has been on a drip, had medication, and still continued with the same symptoms she went in with (drinking excessively, dilated pupils, tremors), even the blood tests came back negative for cat flu, leaukeamia and diabetes. The vet said she could give her more tests but it would take days for the results but still wouldnt give me back the healthy Angel I know and love plus it would cost more. Therefore I have decided because I love her so much that it is not fair for her to suffer anymore and have decided to let her go. As you can tell by my name - Angel and I were always a pair on here. I am gonna miss her terribly expecially right now as I am sitting here all alone with the chickenpox. Fi

Oh Fi I am so sorry. It is an awful decision to have to make. But it means you love her a lot. I had to do this with my 22 year old moggie and I still miss her many years later. You are not alone, you have your friends on here. XX BC

Fi, I am so sad for you. It is a difficult decision to make and even though it is the right one, there might be a little bit of feeling guilty. If there is,that is a natural reaction when making a hard decision for something loved. I am sorry you have lost your companian and I hope you soon recover from chickenpox. Life deals a rough hand at times! Take care, Jacky xx

Oh Fi, poor you and with chickenpox too. I had them the other year at the grand old age of forty. I have had to have quite a few of my cats put to sleep and it is always such a difficult decision to make but in the end you realize it is the right thing to do. One cat I had was in such a state beforehand that I feel guilty now knowing I should have bitten the bullet earlier. On the day he was put to sleep he looked (you know what I mean) so happy and was putting his paws around my neck cuddling me (he would also wrap his paws around my waist and snuggle against me). I felt heartbroken saying goodbye to him and sobbed endlessly. I'd had him from the age of eighteen until I was into my thirties. I'm sure you will be miss Angel such a lot but you did do the right thing. Love Lorrainexx

Fi I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, I would have replied earlier but I'm at work and I knew I would end up in tears as soon as I read your thread. Theres a thread on here somewhere with a poem something about a rainbow which is about a pet dying, its a lovely poem even though it brings tears to my eyes everytime I read it. My cat Freddie sounds alot like your Angel, Freddie follows me everywhere around my home, even in the evenings when I'm on my pc she jumps on my desk and sits next to my monitor keeping me company :-) shes my baby and I spoil her like mad :-) I will give her a big hug this evening and tell her its for Angel. Hugs Karen x

I'm so sorry Fi, you are a very loving 'mum' to make this decision for angel's comfort. Its a terrible decision to have to make but as animal lovers we would never want suffering. God bless you Angel. Hope youll soon be over the chicken pox Fi. Sarah x
