There is a similar thread that rambled on for months (with over 20 pages) that has many similar experiences recounted here. There are some fascinating snippets added by Len of the Chilterns, an obviously well-read, learned and intelligent person, making the thread worth the reading, even if you are just looking at his posts. It is interesting to note that, there as well as here, the 'non-believers' can only say 'No,' without any argument to back themselves up. Could it be fear of the unknown? If you do not believe, then please give some cogent argument to support your stance. Rob

I too believe, have had many experiences. My brother passed 15 years ago and a little boy (3) who was staying at mine was playing in toy room heard conversation going on when I entered the room I asked him who or what he was playing with ? He told me he was playing cars with Rob(my brother) hes always here he answered. Many of my friends are mediums and I myself sit circle (awarness & development). I have attented churches where you get the usual old lady wearing a pinny come through that nearly everyone knew here but I only ever believe conformation that shows really proof to us here that there is life after death. suex

Your story took me right back to over thirty years ago Martin. My small son seemed to be talking to the garage door. I watched him for a while, then asked him what he was doing. He said he was talking to grandad. Grandad had died just before son was born. He then told me he spoke to Grandad a lot. It was comforting actually to know they are still around with us. Jo.

My sister phoned me yesterday evening to tell me that she had popped in to see my dad in his flat. When she and her husband entered the hallway as they got level with the bedroom there was the overwhelming smell of my mum's favourite talc. My mum died four years ago almost to the day. Both my sister and my dad had experienced this smell before, but never together, and my brother in law too could smell it. My sister and dad describe it like being hit in the face with a handful of talcum powder, not just a faint smell! It was a bit awkward as my dad's girlfriend was in the sitting room and she is very sensitive about things like that, she feels alarmed by the thought of spirits or whatever and doesn't like to talk about it. My dad motioned to my sister not to say anything, but my sister had to supress a smile when his girlfriend told her she has just finished making the bed, perhaps my mum wasn't too keen on the idea of her being there and made her presence felt!! My dad is 74 by the way and we are really pleased that he has found someone, even if my mum isn't too keen!

I firmly believe in life after death, and in reincarnation. I've had a few experiences, and know a lot of others who have done too, but the most intriguing I know was a friend's daughter who, from the ages of 3 to about 6, talked about her grandma and grandpa in London. This really baffled my friend as neither set of grandparents had ever lived in London. At first she wouldn't answer questions about them, and got frustrated when mum didn't seem to know who she was talking about, but about the time she started school, she told her mum that she missed living with them in London. When her mum said to her that she'd never lived with her grandparents, nor lived in London, she calmly said 'yes I did, but I died and then I came to live with you'

I certainly believe there is life after death. On a couple of occasions I have gone to a Spiratualist Church when they have had guest mediums there. One time there were two women, one who drew what she saw as her friend related information to the audience to see if anyone could make sense of the messages. They came from London and knew no-one in the audience. I had told no-one I was attending. Several people came through, and suddenly she said 'This lady always wears a hat, and looks serious' I thought it could be my mother. Sure enough she mentioned my Chrisitian name and went on to say several things which could have applied to my mother, about her ailments and what she died from and so on, then she said 'you are doing a lot of cleaning lately and please stop polishing the step at the top of the stairs.' That really convinced me it was my mum because at the time I had been helping by cleaning a friend's house while she worked extra hours and she had wooden thresholds into the rooms at the top of the stairs. Sometimes she would spill coffee on them and I would sponge the paint clean, other times I would spray polish on and clean them. Last time I had polished off the mark, I nearly slipped later and thought to myself 'better sponge those in future' Later I went to pick up the picture the other woman had drawn and the first thing she said was 'Don't you look like your mum?' I have indeed turned into my mother and the picture is just like her. I have had other experiences which convince me someone is helping me out from the other side, the only thing I can't seem to get help with is picking out the right Lottery numbers!

my daughter described vividly to me how she 'died' in a burning car, she told me the same thing on lots of different occasions, she was 3 at the time, she's now 6 and hasn't mentioned it for a couple of years........

Martin. I do believe in 'life after' - it is said that if there is a death there is a birth, your wife may notice alot of his Grandad in him. Will keep an eye on your message site, please don't let it disappear.

Working as a nurse i have had some odd experiences. I remember this lady who was dying. However she was having very normal conversations with a man who i couldn't see. When i asked who she was speaking too and where was he, she replied he was standing just outside the window. The only problem was that we were on the 6th floor. Normally i would have put this down to some confusion yet the conversation was very very normal. Can't explain it but i also can't dismiss it.

A similarly fascinating thread to this was started in Feb. 2004 and is possibly still going (if you go into Search) as it had hundreds and hundreds of amazingly interesting replies; theories, experiences etc. etc. An intriguing subject.

Martin it is very hard to believe in these things until you hear from different people. My brother died when he was 9 yrs old from a road accident my mother and father were very upset as they would be but it hit my mother very hard. She and I went to a medium 6 months after he died I was only 13 and of course did not believe in them but she told us that he was in the room and he wanting to say how much he loved us all, yeh yeh yeh!!! then she said that he wanted my mother to do him a favour and it was to look in his best jacket and there was a bit of paper with a phone number on it could mum ring that number and explain what had happened to him, mum knew straight away what jacket it was went to his cupboard as soon as we got home and in the pocket was a note with a phone number on it she rang it and bless his cotton socks he had a friend/girlfriend and mum explained to her mum what had happened. The medium also told me that 3 days ago I was picking daffs in a field with my younger sister (it was mothers Day) and I was not to worry as I had dropped some of them on my way home and he had picked them up for us and placed them on the dresser in the vase with the other daffs, the vase was there on the dresser, we had picked these daffs and my mother and I have never met this person in our life. My yonger sister was only 3 and does not remeber much but when she was 6 yrs old she told my mother that my brother, her grandad and a dog we had was sitting on the end of her bed last night talking to her, my sister was not born when my grandfather was alive !!!!!!!!!

I also believe in life after death. I too have had some `unexplainable` happenings. I believe in reincarnation which is against the churchs` teachings but my own experience makes me think it is so. Love and Peace Marianne.

Definetly!! I believe that when you die; that ain't just it! You carry on to live you next life, so you live on! I have heard stories that people have seen people that are not alive and that they talk to them and stuff....... maybe they had a strong connection with that person and that they haven't let go to what happened to that person! I mean take a look at Hayley and Noah in Home and Away? (JOKE). Seriously, Some people just don't believe in that stuff until an experience in something like this has happened to them! I remember something on the news a while ago about scientists or someone had a radio thingy and they had recorded something and when listening back to it they could hear voices, maybe from the dead; people thought it was just a hoax but people looked at all the possiblities and ways people could do this and it did come to the conclusion that it was people from the dead.............................. LMP :)))))))))))
