Hi Robert One bad experience won't colour our view! We really like Spain and I'm sure Tom still loves Barcelona! It could have happened anywhere really. Daisy

Sorry to hear about your bad experience of Barcelona, I live in a town in Andalucia where crime is almost non existant, so don't be put off Spain, just don't go to Barcelona!

Lynda A document strap worn under the shirt might be a good idea and double check the hotel booking!!!!! lol I'll ask Tom about the big club by the beach. Open until 6am and the barmaids wear bikinis. Daisy

Yeah Daisy I was thinking although it's a terrible thing to happen it would have been much worse if they had woken up. Seen as Tom has been to Barcelona quite a few times I didn't think it would put him off it is a lovely City and as you say Daisy these things happen the World Over. By the way what language was that rude message in LOL. Take Care Daisy and all the best Pat x

I am so pleased they slept through it rather than confronted heaven knows what by being disturbed. These things happen the world over and it is a lovely city. He won't be put off travelling, but he'll definitely find a more secure way of holding on to his possessions. Prior to cancelling his mobile phone, I left a rude message for the thief! The phone and sim card are now deactivated and completely useless, all the cards are cancelled, the passport too and although they've got his digital camera at least it was insured. Daisy

Probably just as well they were asleep, imagine waking up while they were getting robbed? It is a terrible thing to happen to them but at least they are safe. Thinking of you Daisy and sending you all good wishes x Lots of love Pat x

Oh Daisy, what a shame, a least they are both ok, you hear so many horror stories. How on earth did they manage to sleep through, somebody emtying their bag's as thay slept on them? Were they given a whiff of something, or were they on 'very large brandy's' lol Marion

Thanks Everyone you're very kind! Wendy, Tom was 17 last week and his mate is 19. This was Tom's birthday treat instead of having a party or going clubbing, because he loves Barcelona!! He was there a few weekends ago on a travel challenge for the Pink Fund, we all went last year and he'd been with the school three years ago. And this weekend was going to be so relaxing! lol Daisy
